My car is also set to be built March 14th, same package. Dealer told me it should be in by the 21 if all goes as planned.

That's exactly the way I feel. I ordered it back in October and they said expect it end of November to early December. Now it is end of March. Luckily my current car made it through the winter and thus wasn't hard on my Cobalt!

say you get a car without the 1SB package... and you want the 16 inch rims... can your dealer give you money for the 15inch rims that came with your 1SA that you just bought and give you the 16inch rims? with some extra money of course

Thumbs down

well u can get money in return if u havent made any payments on the car, they would only take off the difference of the car which i think might be like 150 bucks or sumthing like that.

i desperatly need my cobalt, i have to pay $0.15 cents over the 36k miles on my 02 civic right now and im at 37k, its shitty that my cobalt isnt here cuz i dishing out money that COULD be used for my cobalt.

No, not going to happen. However, you can order a 1SA with the 16" rims! Also remember: if you put 16"s on a car that came out of the factorywith 15" rims - You will be out of CALIBRATION for many of the cars electronics, so be careful if you ever upgrade the size of your tires on your own - Proper calibration will be neccessary.

Well, yes and no.

What happens is that a tire dealer may buy the "used" 15" wheels and tires and give you credit (discount, whatever) towards purchasing a new set.

Legally speaking, if you put a set of wheels and tires on a car they become "used" when the car hits the ground and moves 10 feet. Thus the 15's on your Cobalt are "used" even before you buy the car.

Also, a dealer cannot "take off" something from the vehicle when the window sticker says it has it on it. So they cannot take the 16's off of another car and put your 15's on it. They can "add to" a vehicle but must include an adendum sticker showing exactly what they put on and how much extra they are charging for it.

So don't be expecting several hundred dollars back for the 15's. I would expect to see something like 50 bucks per wheel and tire (4x50=200) but only because the bolt pattern is so different.
