2.0L Turbocharged LNF for 2008

I dont know if anyone else has posted this yet but i remember reading some discussion on it. According to the July issue of GM High Tech Performance magazine the Cobalt SS is getting the 260HP 2.0L Turbocharged LNF engine in the 2008 model year. I am definately excited since I totaled my 2005 SS on the Autobahn last year!

I know this may be a stupid question but what is the SC after the SS/SC mean?
I am new to this car.

What does the Z mean in Z28 or Z51 or Z06? What about the G in G85? SS is just a model designation and/or options upgrade. There have been cars that have had SS packages and not one thing on the entire car said SS except the window sheet and the VIN could identify them too. And the cars that have said "Super Sport" on them did not say that from the factory.

The cars that had Super Sport on them had customized badges on them back in the 60's. Your not going to convince me of that one. My memory is thinking it was a Chevy 2 Nova Super Sport.
There are more of us old guys so hopefully one of them reads this thread and agrees ao disagrees.

The Z06, Z28 and Z51 are nothing but the serial numbers of the cars registration at GM.
HEnce the names.

Actually you guys are all WRONG as well as your dads.

http://www.lastofthebreed.com/News/SS/SSHistory.htm

http://www.novaresource.org/rpo_Z26.htm (for Victory... those Super Sport badges on the rear fenders of the Nova were not factory)

SS started as just SS and is still just SS. For a several years there were some Super Sport cars.

There are some Super Sport designated cars, but not every SS model is a Super Sport.

Just because I dont like the idea of "SS" being some obscure letter designation, heres something to chew on:

When I ordered my 07 yesterday, there was a constraint on it between 6/26/06 and 07/02/06. Well, this constraint was not on all cobalts. The system only indicated it was on the "COBALT SUPER COUPE". Yeah, maybe the "SUPER" part meant supercharged, but I'd say its a 50/50 chance between it meaning supercharged and super sport. K im done. lol
