that only tells what parts are swapable. it doesnt say anything about the actual block. Im pretty sure they are the same block tho. just want someone that knows for sure to confirm it. thanks.

as far as I can figure they will be the same. between a 2.0 and 2.2. The reason I come to this conclusion is that the billet crank from the performance catalogue says that it reduces the displacement to 2.0, this seems to logically point out that the block itself is a 2.2
However!!! Be careful, the VIN on the motor being different from the vin on your car could lead to problems during an inspection down the line....

I think that they are different. The LSJ has more support (more bolt locations) along the journal/girdle support area.
EDIT: Nope! See below

I think you an still interchange cranks......hold on...I have all the build books...I'll look it up for you...give me a minute.
Okay....the cranks on the LE5 and L61 have a 6-bolt pattern and the LSJ and LNF have an 8 bolt pattern. That is it, so the blocks look to be identical save for any minor year to year revisions. Y
ou should be good to go!

what about oil squrters?
If I sit a 2.2 block next to a 2.0 block they will be exactly the same? i just want to be sure that everything will bolt right into the 2.2 block.
just want to make sure that i am not going to run into any trouble. I seriously thought that all ecotec engines used the same block, but diffrent cranks pistons and heads. I want to build this using as many parts built for the 2.0 as possible. from the crank, rods, pistons, heads, cams, supercharger.. so on. just better. using better pistons, and a re-built head. so far I have learned I will most likely loose the oil squrters. anything else I'm going to run into?
oh, and im going to keep bumping this till i get more,/better awnsers.

the blocks are the same in every way except for the oil squirters but you can put them in with the help of a machine shop.. all they do is tap 4 holes in the oil galley and insert the squirters. the oil pump does the rest. its that simple but getting the squirters them self is hard... there just pieces of metal tubes angled up facing the bottom of the pistons and the presher from the oil pump makes them spray constantly... hope that helps yea...
