2 interesting questions

Hey,

Well, I've been reading many reviews and have heard that the SS S/C has a very blinding spoiler (by that I mean, when you look in your rear view you can't see much)....is this true?

Also I had a friend tell me he had this magazine which stated that cobalts really are not reliable. What is everyones feedback on these two questions...

Thanks

1) Yes, it does block a good portion of your rear visibility but you get used to it, I don't even notice it anymore.

2) The Cobalts have not been out NEARLY long enough to get numbers on their reliability, and if magazines are giving them ratings this early in the game, I would have to call their data into serious question.

The spoiler does kind of suck, but it does block out drivers headlights

I have no real problems with my Cobalt, just things that were covered under warranty.

My wife and I have had our's since NOV/DEC '05. And besides her's being in an accident the only other issue is, my foglight button works when it wants to. It's covered under waranty just have'nt had the time to take it in.

1. I actually like it blocking my view. Less headlight glare and who looks thru the back window anymore? I use my side mirrors.

2. Most Cobalts i've seen in accidents (only a handful) seem to hold up very well IMO.

Had mine since may 05, no problems other than cosmetic that i just had fixed.
Spoiler was weird at first for me, but like they said, you get used to it.
Headlight blocking is nice.

yeah it blocks it

and mags dont usually comment on reliability anyway since they test Brand New cars ... (but the ecotec has proven itself very reliable in other applications, I expect the same in our given application)

There is a thread on the forum somewhere about issues owners have had so far with their cars. Do a search, you should find it. Most of the things are cosmetic. The sunroof trim ring falls off, the door panel upholstry pulls out from the handle, that sort of thing.

i love the spoiler, except for the fact that if you get pulled over during the daytime, you cant see the cop trying to pull you over
but its cool cus it does block out nasty high beam glare, and i always look out of the back of my car when i back up, and NEVER have a problem seeing what i need to see
About the reliability issue
the car has been out for a year.... its gona have a few bugs to work out, but its an ecotech I-4 DOHC...i get on my ride almost on a daily basis, and have absolutely nothing wrong with it at all.
hope this helps

you get used to the wing, for me only little cosmetic issues, the only issue im having now is that my paint on the rims have tiny bubbles and are peeling, i have an apt for that in 2 weeks, my dealership is pretty good though so hopefully they fix the issue.

Reliability? So far my Cobalt is as bulletproof as my Cavaliers were... this car is a tank! And it goes real fast too (well until 105... but you get there quick!). Anyways, I am getting so sick of these ******* mags and their bullshit. Blah.

1) Spoiler does get in the way but it blocks headlights at night and my tinit is so dark i can't see **** neways. During the day I can see whats behind me fine. It's ppl that can't drive that will have a problem.

2) The car has been out for just over a year I don't believe you can rate a cars reliablity in such a short amount of time.
