2007 Cobalt SS/SC
2007 Cobalt SS/SC
I am turning 16 soon, and I really like the SS/SC models. They are really hard to find for sale though (I guess because everyone likes theirs?), but one comes up every once in awhile. I am going to look at one today that is a 2007 with 80,000 miles. I wanted to know how reliable this car is now that it is 2011 and people have had them for 4 years.

I've had my 07' since I purchased it brand new back in May of 07'.
I've never had one problem! I just hit 40,000 miles with mine though, so I can't really say there wont be issues with a higher mileage one. Just look it over well, find out how many owners had it, see if its ever been modded, and check into its accident history (if it has any).

One more question, I looked at one last week and on the rear end beside the exhaust, the body looked melted, like from the exhaust, or maybe it was some kind of liquid that had hardened...is this normal?

Thanks! I've read everything there is to know about them! It's hard convincing my dad to look into a car that has the word "Supercharged" in the title though, but I explained to him that my mom's Honda Accord has more hp than that.

The original owner may have installed an aftermarket catback that was not installed correctly and rubbed/melted the plastic.
I have a 2006 SS/SC purchased with 45,000 miles which had a salvage title before it was rebuilt. Car is in nice shape and I have since added an intake, 42 LB injectors and a 2.9 with a Trifecta tune. Car needs a clutch but I love it.
Not many cars will give you this much fun and still decent fuel economy. First Black car I have owned and man does it look nice when it's clean
