Found this interesting also: This is taken from the linked site^ and is on page 2, posted by 1931 Chevy
"I bet the engine they will use is the one they used on the Opel Speedster
and maybe this could be the platform for the next fiero as I posted on the Fiero return thread
The Opel Speedster is a roadster produced from 2001 to 2005 by Lotus for General Motors's subsidiary Opel and was also badged as Vauxhall VX220 for the UK market. Both cars have a lot in common with the Lotus Elise and they are characterized by strong performance and superb handling.
Since the beginning of their production Speedster and VX220 were powered by GM's 2.2 L 16-valve Ecotec L61 engine producing 147 hp ECE (108 kW). Since 2003, they are also available with a 2.0 L turbocharged version of this engine producing 200 hp ECE (147 kW). The turbo version is able to reach the top speed of 242 km/h (151 mph) and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 4.9 seconds"
That being said the only thing GM would gain with the turbo is a faster zero to sixty number.
Discuss...lol
what i want to know is has anyone read the front page news um they just released a new supercharger for the cobalt.. a better one why would they invest time and money for a new supercharger if they knew they were already gunna make the 08's turbo there not just gonna use the new s/c for 1 year i know everyones excited but its getting a bit ridiclious with this turbo phenomon plus thats what makes the cobalt 2.0 stand out........supercharged..... there would have to be too many changes to make it a turbo better suspension, like a stage 2 clutch already stock cause it would probally be a 250hp stock and every cobalt owner knows that a stock cobalt ss s/c cant hold anymore than like 250 hp on a stock clutch and plus look at the cobalts now almost 3 years in its start there finally figuring out the bugs such as better axles..? maybe lol twin chargers i mean it would be sweet to have a turbo cobalt but its first year developmnet would be a risk not all the bugs would be figured out and we all know that but lets all be honest how nice would a blow off valve sound on these cars i think people would be scared since were already underdogs
I don't like the idea of the turbo. I say they throw in that big ass V8 from the 09 Camaro

AND a supercharger. lmfao
AND a supercharger. lmfao
