2010 Cobalt SS - $21,000?
I found a mint Chevrolet Cobalt SS near my home and it's a 2010 model with 14,000 miles. The pics look great and I'm going to the dealership for a test-drive this Saturday, June 4th. Can someone tell me if the dealer's price of $21,000 is too high? I know 2009 SS models go here for about $15,000. I have a 2008 Chevy Cobalt Sport 2.4L (non-turbo) and I'm trying to decide what's best: trade for a SS turbo model, or just upgrade mine step by step (starting with a Hahn's turbo) and turn it into something very closely resembling the SS turbo. Thanks.
uh ya 21k for a car with 14k miles on it is kinda high ide say, people pay that for new ones, ide pay like 18k for it, **** if u wanna pay 21k for that car ill sell u my 09 SS/TC Sedan with 13k miles on it fully bolted for 21k lol
edit just saw u were in canada, so idk they exchange rate but it still seems high to me

2.4 with an added turbo + various other upgrades, I believe has the ability to have more hp then a reg SS/TC. I could be incorrect in saying this. I remember a friend with a 2.4 TC, and on a straight line...it went like the wind.
Hard choice. Stock is less stressful then building yourself, yet not as much fun....

yea thats hi as ****, I got mine w/ 92 miles for 18k
I'll sell you mine if ya want one
you wouldn't be gaining much for switching to the SS/TC, mostly rims, front/rear lips, Couple badges, and a turbo.. ALL of which can be bought for much less than $15,000 even after taxes and labor
I'd go with ZZP's or Hahn's Turbo kit

Take the difference in price between your car and the tc, and drop it into your car. Then you will have a way better can than a stock tc. Do an internal upgrade and go turbo, then add suspension and your set
well when you are talking about your car vs the tc, of course the first thing that comes to mind is the turbo. But dont forget the tc has bremos , better suspension, and I believe in you 2.4 you would have to upgrade your clutch if not the whole tranny to handle the extra power. however, 21k is a bit high.

You would enjoy one already built and ready for you. Don't spend any more on what you have.
Save up or if you actually have to have it and can't live with out it find one for much cheaper.
Going belly up and not being able to afford it later really bites. Then you will be driving out a 92 Honda hatch with a rusted out muffler ..
Totally worth the upgrade tho

Why I was interested in the stock SS turbo was: 18" rims, different suspension, different transmission with a higher torque rating, different seats/interior; premium fuel not a must; and last but not least, 2.0 L engine should be better on fuel than my 2.4, when you add the turbo.
Keep what you got, if you try to use the 08 Sport as a trade in you will be REAL lucky if you get $6000 which is I'm thinking less than what you owe on it and $21,000 is way too much for the 2010 like about $7000 too much
21K sounds waaay too high for a 2010 with 14,000kms I'd say they'd be lucky to get 18K for it. My 2009 that I got in September 2009 only has 20,700 on it and that thing is a year younger and is pretty close in KMs. I say build up your 2.4
gas pricessssss. thats what it all evolves around. i just went through all this crapwith buying a car,i was looking into an LSJ for the longest time when i came to realize that all the LSJ's around minnesota with 40k to 90k miles on them still wanted anywhere from 11k$ to 16k$ then i found 2 LNFers sitting at a dealership and bit the bullet and bought a SS/TC sedan. i found a 2 door white SS/TC in Saint Paul for 22,000$ with 18KMiles on it!!! lol its such BS but its all because the gas prices, they will put a higher price tag on it because the car gets good gas mileage and they will get that price for it too.
**** is laaame
