Camaro only edges the Challenger slightly - except trap speed. It would be hard to notice the difference unless car was purchased for track .. or.. #'s just used for bragging rights. BUT... 12K price difference between the two is huge.
I think the Camaro looks great - but - you sit low... with tiny slits for windows. It depends on the preferences of the person driving of course.. for me a little uncomfortable and bad visibility. I would still consider it though.. if in a market that that kind of car. I've seen lots of color/ stripe combos that look great.. my fave so far was a dark red with black stripes SS at a local dealer... reminds me of a '67 SS a buddy owned back in HS.
If money didn't mater... It would be the Challenger.. even though it's not the best performing.. just love the looks in and out and the comfort.
Mustang is friggin amazing! Best performance deal by far. Can hit 40K with too many options... but.. a great example can be had for low 30s. I doubt there will be any discounts on this beast for a long time.

I never understood Motor Trends comparison of those 3 when I watched it on YouTube...I understand that the new Mustang decimates the competition...but how the hell did they rank the Challenger above the Camaro??? First of all...the Challenger is Way the **** too expensive for what you get. In no way is it Better (aside from looks...but that's debatable) than its competitors...and it's starting price is nearing 15k MORE expensive...??? I honestly think dodge did the Challenger all wrong as far as packages and options go. They need to eliminate its 5.7 liter option from the lineup all together and JUST have V6 or V8 like Ford and Chevy and price each similarly to its rival. There's no need for 2 gas guzzling V8 options in the lineup for one Muscle car these days. Ford and Chevy made that realization...why can't Chrysler??
Heh John, I was gonna start a "Stang V6 vs. Balt SS" thread and made up this little chart the other day:

There are different performance numbers for the new Stangs, I used the one's from C&D's recent test:
(direct link to pdf showing results for V6 Stang/Camaro and V8 Stang/Camaro)

also, stangs are way overrated. who cares if youve got 400 hp out of a 5.0? i would rather eat **** than drive any stang.
/thread
you drive a cheap econobox car with upgraded suspension and boost.....please explain to me how this is so much better than a mustang? Your attitude is the reason why people who do have mustangs/camaros/other v8 cars ******* HATE most import/tuner drivers......
"400hp from a v8 5 liter is not impressive".......yea do that with a 2.0 without 20lbs+ of boost.....
being able to say 5.0 liter sounds way better than saying a 4.6 liter haha just a thought. also, I drove a 06 V6 stang when I was looking for a new car, all I could think of is the explorer motor under the hood
. Camaro > Mustang > Challenger im my mind

As far as looks - I prefer the Challenger - BUT.... Would have to be more wealthy than I am to pay that kind of premium over the SS... For a big price savings.. (and if I was interested at all in buying one - not) .. .. The V6 may be an option.. BUT only when they give it more power... right now it's ok.. but car is very heavy and main competition blows it's doors off.
With the engines - 2 engines makes sense from a financial standpoint for the company... but I have no problems with giving enthusiasts more choices. My only real problems with the Challenger are price and V6 power where the competition is concerned.
because 412hp out of a N/A 5 liter engine while retaining very good driveability and gas mileage is an engineering feat....

btw, i dont think 400 hp out of a v8 is impressive, especially when half of them will probably stock throughout the time which they are driven. just like old men and their corvettes.
and i didnt say a cobalt was any better. the mustang is in a completely different class of car.
I have the new addition of Car and Driver in my hands.

That is the cars and the price as tested. That is usually what the price of the cars are any way to abe able to buy one. They can be found cheaper, but not around where i live. They are still trying to sell last years GT for at least $32,000. Not fully loaded. Other mags say other times, but they are within at least .2 of each other. Different drivers and different days and weather. As the cobalts were tested and the results showed up. The cumulative times were within +.3 of the magazines proclaimed results. I think we all can agree that some people will be able to be under par so to speak. Thus getting either a high 12 or high 13 second 1/4. The cumulative amound of people that will be able to do that with the car as purchased is going to be less than the people that are just shy of the proclaimed times. If you add the additional packages.. the price goes up and the times start to look a little less amazing. A fully loaded cobalt ss/tc is under $25,000. The mpg, aftermarket segment, and stability of the platform is a work of art. The upcoming cars that are close to our numbers are going more, but the price for one of them is also increasing. I'm beside myself with the SS/TC. Also, for the price?? Full tank drive 2+ hrs, make 5 runs, beat newer cars that are also stock or mild mods V8's and tuner alike, drive back home stop for a snack and still have over 1/8 of a tank of fuel is a awsome.

I refuse to believe that Mustang is better than Camaro specially on this recent review from motortrend. why did they had to compare 2011 stang to the 2010 camaro and challenger? why not wait till there all upgraded to the next year? its only cus they just want to make the camaro and the challenger look bad.. only for now...but i want to see the stang owners when they have to put up with the upcoming z28, or w.e camaro is coming up next...then they can compare again and we'll be seen the stangs sitting in 3rd place again.

Cobalts are stupid haha
All i know is it doesnt take an LSJ nor an LNF econobox to have 400hp or more to beat any new 5.0 Mustang out there New, Old, u name it. ohh and specially not with 20lbs+ of boost. mind you LSJs or LNFs are already boosted so nothing can be done to that, you should know..
oh and one other thing....most 03-04 Cobras will destroy 99.99% of cars on this website in the 1/4 mile. Yet all I hear is 99.99% of cobalts on here will destroy and mustang....
Hope you realize doing the exact same thing to those cars as a GM stage 2 will net you mid to low 11's if the driver can halfway drive....
*putting on flame suit... a cammed ls1 will take a 03-04 cobra. its basically a drivers race then. Must Use Supercharger or Turbo Against N/a Gm. sad to say it but the camaro has beat the mustang every time. untill now. ford done something right. but still, how did we go from cobalt vs mustang to camaro vs mustang?
