You could remote the turbo, there is a camaro running around here with the turbo in the rear axle hump above the axle below the floor board.

Id love to get a letter from Chevy on this.. Id be even happier if I got a job with them haha.
As for when the car will be out, I need some friggen wheels.. They've been on order with sueprbuytires from california since december and I just found out they were screwing me over.. They have my money as well so I might be out 2500 bucks!!!!!!!!! erg.
I have to order a new set this week from wheels for less in Vaughn ontario. Once I have wheels im on the home stretch!!.. The things left I have to do are:
- Install rear main seal and new oil pan gasket (3 beer job)
- Finish all wiring (50% done) (6 beer job)
- Finish Steering (95% done) (1 beer job)
- Finish off securing the air intake (1 beer job)
- Mount the Power steering fluid resevoir (1 beer job)
- Route Brake Lines (4 beer job)
- Route Fuel Lines (4 beer job)
- Build Exhaust (couple beers)
- Build Roll cage (might not do this right away, will just drive slow
) (sunday job at work)
- Find some outer tie rods that screw onto the steering rack but still bolt into cobalt knuckles.(couple beer job for Napa auto parts)
- Finish rear end mounting of air struts (4 beer job)
- Install Air ride and Battery (6 beer job)
- Install Interior (not required to do burnouts)
- Weld in new Nut`s for rear seat mounting (1/2 beer job)
- Get alignment
- Get E-test (not looking forward to this)

lolDude you rock. This car will be amazing and its all possible thx to beer haha.
Very nice job. Have not hit your link yet to review more on this build. A rwd conversion is my next personal project. Have been researching and kicking around the engine and rear set up. I'll keep checking back.

Well I guess I better pull it off then lol..
couple more updates:
-Been a bit boring on the pictures side for the last week or so, I got from the dash forward wired up.. I have the wiring throughout the rest of car laid out, just need to extend/shorten wires to the appropriate locations (not that big of a job)
-Ran into a bit of a snag with the exhaust manifolds, they come right down into the steering rack which obviously wont work.. I need to use some LS2 Corvette Manifolds to make it work (luckily found a set online for $80.00 that I may have shipped tomorrow)
-Ordered some Flowmaster Super 44 mufflers, Magnaflow Catalytic converters (emissions suck), and some flowmaster exhaust tips today.. Should have those soon.
-Also had my mechanic buddy over for an hour today to see what I need for brake and fuel lines, they have been ordered.
-Ran into a bit of another snag with the rear taillights & wiring. The rear tailights on the GTO had three bulbs where as the rear cobalt lights have 2 bulbs. Needed to buy a trailer brake light module to make it work, this is wired in now!
-Also gave the two different Tie rod ends to my mechanic buddy and told him to go fishing at NAPA Auto Parts to see if he could find one that will work on my setup.. Crossing my fingers on this, hopefully it doesnt need to be a custom mock up. The tapered bolt that goes into the hub is longer on the cobalt than on the GTO setup, and the threads are bigger on the GTO rack, so I need GTO thread and Cobalt Tapered bolt lol..
-Had to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau on Super Buy Tires out of California. Gave them money in december 2012 for my rims, and they still are not here. Gotta get my money back one way or another.. Found another source for rims here in Toronto, so have to hit that up sometime this week or next.
Getting close all. I think its weeks or a couple months away.

More updates!
-Rear main seal on motor has been replaced, along with oil pan gasket.
-Wiring in the trunk is complete
-Just a few things left to do around the steering column for wiring
-Started working on brake lines, hope to have that and fuel lines finished up for this weekend!
Still battling with Better Business Bureau and superbuy tires to get my money back for my wheels..

I basically took the entire GTO wiring harness out of the GTO and dropped it in the cobalt and spliced a few connectors from the Balt harness on where needed.. Hoping the ignition is going to work but have my doubts lol
