Question ABS Issue

My car was in an accident before I bought it. The car is fine but there are a few things I'd like to fix. The ABS wiring on the back passenger wheel was cut and butt-connected. The wiring is pinched and the connection is horrible, throwing an ABS light. I'm going to fix up the wiring by splicing in more wire, tinning the ends, butt-connecting them, heat shrinking them and then putting the wiring back in the black tubing.

What gauge wire will I need for this? Or even better, is there a whole new wiring harness for this that I can buy and replace?

Why would you go through all the effort of tinning the wire ends just to put a butt connector on it? If you were already willing to take the time to tin them, you might as well just solder the ends together and put shrink tubing over the connection. Leave out the butt connector altogether.

^^ x2.

But call Tom at C.E.D. He can tell you if there is a harness that you can plug and play real quick, and what it would cost.
