AEM Wideband UEGO install
AEM Wideband UEGO install
Could someone please tell me whats involved in installing this gauge? I'm wondering if I can set it in my gauge pod and get the wiring done and just have a shop finish the bosch sensor for me?
I've looked everywhere and can't find any detailed information on the AEM other then "get it professionally installed". I just have a few questions...such as could I go ahead and wire up the gauge with the sensor uninstalled just to get the power portion of the install taken care of? Also, the bung...I'm under the assumption that a bung is just a short cylinder welded into the exhaust. Am I correct? and how does the sensor stay in the bung? Thanks!
the bung is a threaded adapter so the bosch sensor will be threaded into it just like an oem port. As far as wiring the gauge before hand yes you should be fine just leave the necessary wires exposed for the final install and if you run the plug harness outside of the firewall cover it and zip tie it out of the way so as not to damage it while driving.
I will be doing the same install this spring with an NGK unit and my plans are to get the bung welded in first and then have the exhaust shop put a plug in it so I can take it home and finish the install.
