I'm starting a subchapter of cobaltss.net. This chapter is only for those who understand SRT-4's are infact faster.

As SRT-4 owners you are automatically allowed in this chapter. You can come up with a catch phrase and place it in your signature if you like.

It is a FACT that SRT-4's are faster, and I'm getting sick of all the threads being hijacked by the fools who argue this fact.

Bspot, why do you have to force this issue so much? Lot of times, people that go this far to the extreme are over compensating for the a lack of something elsewhere. How many times have people on this site asked for the Cobalt, Ion/Redline, Neon/SRT owners to come together and find a common cause. It seems as if you are always trying to put a wedge in the middle to prevent this, WHY?

EXACTLY! there are more people here who accept the fact that the SRT-4 is faster get a damn clue! Its people like you fanboys who cause problems by constantly stating the fact.

You are the one being a complete moron by constantly picking at the SRT-4 vs SS posts, just let them be, if you don’t argue no one else will, making this post just shows you are more immature then the SS fanboys who think the SS is faster!

It’s a FACT that a corvette is faster then many SRT-4’s but I don’t go around saying it and you shouldn’t go around saying the SRT-4’s are faster then an SS.

Why do you have to come in here with your ego trying to convince a few little kids who probably will never understand your point of view. The majority of the people on this forum like the SRT-4 (hell the SRT-4 was the reason I go the SS), making this post will only drag out those few people and cause problems that no one cares for.

So please can a moderator lock this post!

I have no choice but to support my fellow Canucks. As much as b-spot's behaviour may be a tad inappropriate, we have to admit the facts: the SRT-4 is FASTER than the Cobalt SS/SC. However, in the context of things, WHO CARES!!! We Cobalt owners bought our cars because we were attracted to what Chevy had to offer in this car, not becuase we wanted to immediately go out there and take-on SRT-4's. Personally, it's the Jap cars that make me sick at this point. I currently own a Honda Odyssey which is a piece of **** and I can't wait to unload it for a Caravan or an Uplander. I now realize just how good American cars are made today. The stigmatism that American quality is lower then Jap or European is quickly fading and I think it's about time.

B-spot, yes, on paper the SRT-4 is faster than my Cobalt SS/SC. I'm not out to race SRT-4's. If all I wanted speed then I would have bought one. There is no bigger bang for your performance buck than the SRT-4. But, I love the Cobalt because I've owned Chevy before and I loved my old car. So hats off to America for finally buidling some serious sport compacts that will compete with the Japs!!!

 

SRT-4's are faster but there but ulgy compared to the cobalt.... can i still join

He started this thread to feel a little bit more confortable with his own car. I know I love my SS and I would never change it. If you need to hear that the srt4 is faster than the SS to make you Happy and Make up for a whole lot of other things your SRT4 doesnt have oh well. THAN THE SRT$ IS FASTER! I dont need people telling me baout my own stuff for me to realise how good they are or to make me any happier. I Love my car and

Everyone in this Forum picked their cobalt Over the SRT4. So get over it. Our cars are better looking, more confortable and Redefined. So here, your car is faster. Happier now.
Go take on some Cobalts out there! Well get to 60 with more style than you will and only .1 seconds slower!. And thats stock!

 

I looked at both the SS and the SRT-4 (ended up going with the LS) and found they both have their strengths.

Anyone can tell by looking at the stats, not to mention vids, that the SRT-4 is going to be faster stock than the SS stock...unless somewhere down the road more horsepower and torque = slower? The SS' supercharger is capable of much more output than it is currently allowed but until you unlock it the SRT-4 still remains the faster of the two...25hp may not sound like much but it can make a world of difference.

The Cobalt's interior on the other hand was a better fit for me and horsepower at time of initial purchase wasn't all that important. I love my Cobalt and wouldn't trade it for anything else, but I do plan on making a number of modifications starting next year to give it more of the personalized feel more-so than the horsepower/torque increase.

That being said, why do you really care so much if people want to argue that the SS is faster...the majority of the community know it isn't and there's no point in starting a huge flame war because a few people won't admit their car is slower. to some degree I can see their point of view because I'm sure it is ultimately based on their love of the car, not necessarily that they feel the SRT-4 is inferior.

For once the domestics are not only out-performing the imports but look and feel like much more complete packages than their pre-decessors (sp.) and now we're going at it with eachother.

Hell yeah for homeland tuner cars!!! srt-4 and SS's alike are sick ass cars(i love my SS) i cant wait for the next model SS to come out... 2.4L w/supercharger.. im guessing much over 250hp aswell as being under-rated like our cars now

 

I don't own an SRT-4 you douche! I own a Cobalt SS. A black one, and I absolutely love it. I feel no need to say "Well its better because... blah blah blah".

I bought it because I love it, it fits what I want. End of story.

My car is slower than an SRT-4 though.

Half of you disagreeing with me are making my point, can we get out of the childish arguments and just talk about cars without constant Cobalt vs SRT-4 ***** size competitions?

I think for the most part the SRT-4 members that we have on here have been awesome, I just don't want them driven away by all the BS in every thread. You mods should be thanking me, not getting pissed off.

 

I think that there are like 2 kids in this forum that actually beleive that the cobalt ss is faster then an srt-4, those are the same kids who beleive that they can keep up with a cobra hoestley, the is such a stupid argument.

I dont mind hearing about the SRT whether it be mods, track times, etc, but like everyone else said, we are tired of seeing these kinds of posts about SRT bashing or Cobalt bashing.

If someone is SERIOUSLY conteplating which one to buy, im sure we can all be grown ups and tell that person the perks about each car and let them make up their own mind.

We dont need to go over to SRT and bash them, and we dont need them coming here. As long as we get moderation, we can keep a clean board.
