Am Jumping In.....
Ordered a......
Ordered a Sport in Imperial Blue with the light grey interior. I liked and would like to have the 5 -speed, but I wanted the Remote Start that required the automatic. (The differece between 20 years old and 50!!) Took the longest time to decide the color. Hated paying extra cost for red tint paint and didn't really look that special. Liked the white, but it's well..white. Just no color to it. White is OK, but just looked plain to me in the Cobalt. Had a white Grand Prix and liked it. Imperial Blue was the only other consideration. My all time favorite was last years Blue Granite as in the non SC 2007 SS. That would have been my #1 choice hands down. I liked the Sunburst Orange too. I am really looking forward to it coming in. Usually 4-6 weeks. The dealer said laughingly, "as slow as sales in general has been,, it will be here in a week and a half!" Of course he was kidding.
I'm not too much on mods as this will be a toy and weekend trip car basically. I will go a couple GM "bolt on" accessories. (Wild aren't I ??? haha) I also had in the back of my mind our 11 y.o. son on this purchase too. I will enjoy this car 4-5 years or so. I am very particular on how I keep things. In 5 years, it will look the same as the day I get it. He may inherit "half of the car", if he is responsible when he gets his license. He was included and involved in the picking of the car and some options. He will work to "buy out his half", when the time comes. (If he wants it and works for it, hopefully he will appreciate it, respect it and safegard it.) This car is basically a "safe" car as far as crash ratings, air bags, is sporty and in todays market, reasonably priced. In 5 years, the tax man won't want too much and although insuring a teen is high, this car should be as reasonable as it gets in that department too.
I would help him (a little) on and with some reasonable 'mods" HE may want. Two generations have totally different concepts on what is KOOL!! He is a good kid, does well in school and is honest and respectful.
This is a great forum and I appreciate all yall's input. Some GREAT guys and gals in here,, thanks for all your help....
