anyone with car buying knowledge help me out..

i really want to upgrade to an ss/sc and i found one on cars.com for 15k.. 2005 red ss/sc. now what would i have to do in order for me to get something like this? right now im doing a 4 year smart buy on a 2005 cobalt ls.. my payments are 209 a month and i have 20 more months left until my lease is up. so i imagine they would tack on the remaining months into a new loan but i have 3 grand saved up right now and i know they owe me tax money considering they charged me tax on the whole car value which is 19,100 even though i should of only payed tax on the 209 a month for 48 months and not to mention i bought an extended warranty which they should at least give me some back since the extended warranty doesnt kick in until next april.. give me your opinions!!

either way, its gonna cost you a chunk of change
talk to your lease giver/loan/bank or someone that knows about car loans

<--- used car manager at ur service

Ok your extended warranty starts on the inservice date which is the day you bought it. you can cancel it and use it for daown payment. it is prorated so you wont get all of it back. there are 2 ways to go either trade it in and add the negative to it or add the 4,180 worth of payments. but you said you have 3000 to put down and what ever theycharged you for the extended warranty figure around 700 to be safe so then you will only have 480 in negative equity which is great. book value in tx is 13,825 usually the banks will only do about 125-130% over that which would be about 17,300. which here in tx you would be financing 17,140 with ur 3000 and the 700 in the x-warranty. so you should be in pretty good shape. finance wise but lemme look and see what ur state tax is and I can figure you a whole car deal for ya

EDIT: Ok NY has 4% sales tax and up to 5.5% county tax which I don't know what the county tax is for your county so I used the 5.5% but if you bought the car for $15,000 added the 4,180 so 19,180 with 3000 in down payment and 700 in warranty cancelations you would be financing around $17,700. give er take 50.00 or so.

The value in Ny could be different here in tx which could be higher or lower but it will give you something to go off of at least. I still think it's do able tho. and since you are on a smart buy who ever signed the loan must have pretty good credit so they should be able to finance all of it. I can tell you payment if you have an interest rate you think you can get
