Im curious how loud and obnoxious that setup has to be. And while I said I was done modifying my cobalt. Everytime I ride in my friends Scion tc with exhaust it makes me want to do a catback.


So ive been curious how the SLP would sound with a header.

So does anyone have a sound clip with an SLP catback and a header? (CTI,ZZP,CIA)
I put it in this forum because honestly I dont care what it is 2.0,2.2,2.4 I just want a general idea

 

That would probably be the sound that makes you punch babies.

SLP is horrible by itself. Add a header (god forbid with a cat-less downpipe) and you will hate your life.

 

I heard one of the local members G5's with an SLP and actually it sounded better than most of the kitten cannons ive heard on cobalts. It was actually smooth and not raspy or as loud as the videos make it out to be.

though id be running it with a zzp 1 3/4 mid length with a 3 inch downpipe into a 3 inch cat and reduced to 2.5 at the flange. Was thinking about doing this setup. But I do realize it might need another resonator due to the header. But was curious if anyone an slp installed with a header setup.

 

i guess on a 2.2L or 2.4L it wouldn't be quite as loud... I didn't look at your sig and assumed you had a 2.0.

 

I love loud and hateful exhausts. I would love to have the dual slp exhaust but I couldn't pass up a 6 month used magnaflow for only 150 from a local Guy that was parting out for a TVs build

 

Im not so much worried about how loud as much as keeping rasp in check. An SLP on the stock exhaust was actually decent and wasnt any louder than magnaflow or ark or any of those. And honestly I thought it sounded better than the hahn id heard. Just curious how loud its going to be with a good header and a high flow cat.

 

It wont be that much louder with a header and h/f cat. It only gets real shitty when you go cat-less

 

Yeah I think I will go ahead and do this after I repair the damn ac system....
