armrest fitment issue???

Mine fits so tight that it actually takes an amount of force to lift it up or down or open the top its squashing the seats on both sides pretty good I haven't seen anyone complain about this before do I just have my seats in a weird position or what I do not want to damage my seats

I would think it is the fact, that GM did not design the SS for a arm rest for a reason, and the recaros being wider, is what is causing the problem. A stock SS seat non recaro and the LT and LS models have no issues.

I assume you mean bolsters
I didn't even know that was possible
Its hitting both seats to the point that I'm afraid it's going to tear the fabric sucks because I really like having this arm rest and I've never heard of anybody having this issue

I dont have TC seats, but I have non-factory buckets and an armrest and I have no problems at all.

When I had the armrest in my car it touched te seats a little bit. Nothing crazy. I took it out tho because I wasn't a fan of it.

It's definitely not the most quality piece I've have ever seen the top blows as a matter of fact but now that it fots I like it and thanks to this thread I now fit in my seat correctly for the first time ever

Yea there's a bent metal rod underneath the bolster Foam to give it the rigidity, can get bent outwards over time and or if a bigger guy had the car before you. Can just give it a good tug or push To adjust it

The reason GM did not include the armrest in the SS/SC & SS/TC was due to them feeling during spirited driving it would get in the way.

Seat design had nothing to do with it.

All models should have had an armrest.

I have one and honestly unless you're on the highway for hours it's more comfortable to drive and shift with the thing folded back.

Yeah I put mine up when I drive spirited. It's nice to have a place to put your arm when cruising or commuting.

They're not my words. That info was straight from GM.

I'm sure you can find the questions/answers about it on here somewhere.

I read about it years ago.

When I 1st got my balt, my seat bolsters were a lil bent outwards on the drivers side only. I compared the pass seat with drivers seat. The previous owner was a lil bit of a bigger fella. When I bought my armrest, it also rubbed the drivers seat only. I just grabbed my drivers seat and gave it a big bear hug and you can hear it pop back into place. no issues with it now. I have no trouble shifting with it down either. I'm an average size adult, 5' 10" and 185 lbs, and i keep my seat pretty far back to.
