well think about it. magazines hit 14.7 what did gm claim 14.7 14.8 right, now the one and only 1 who hit 14.5 works at a dealer, and honestly what dealer would go and let an employee race a not even broken in brand new car that they want to sell? and he has yet to provide timeslips like he stated he would. not dissing but i would like to see others start running those times then i'll be happy.

Yes they do.

I haven't actually timed it yet but my RL sure does feel like it's hitting 60 a lot quicker than 6.7 seconds.

you redline owners need to start getting to the track and running, then e-mailing your timeslips to this magazines and saying "look this is what i hit, so learn how to drive." i see bunch of dynoes but no time slips. getting frustrated lol.

so jpk hows the trans? whats your situation on that?

Where they driving a Redline? I think they were driving someones geo metro or something. Maybe they don't like the Redlines. I'd send them an email and give them some link to other sites to tell them they are wrong.

Considering some eco-powered Z24's have achieved close to those numbers stock, the advantage of about 80 more whp wouldn't make sense now would it, even if the RL is 2-300 lbs more.

I'm thinking the answer is poor driving, or just not enough time to get used to the RL. I've read in reviews that it's tough to to launch the RL w/out cooking the tires, and that the tach is slow and it's hard to shift high-enough in the RPM's to use optimum power without hitting the rev-limiter. SCC ran 15.3 with traction issues, tack issues, and bad track conditions. I'm sure we will see much better numbers further on.

Look here ---> http://******************/forums/show...1&page=4&pp=10

Obviously you've seen this before Eddie....

It was his first time at the track w/ his Redline, only got 2 runs. Obviously he had launching issues because his 60' time was bad.

A 14.9 is miles better then a 15.3, and obviously neither driver has perfected launching yet. If you can run a 14.9 with a crappy launch, I'd say a 14.5 with a good driver and good car is not out of the question.

I know you are frustrated about the lack of timeslips out there as opposed to the number of dyno's, but dude.... it's winter! A lot of people will be out there this spring.

My dealership sponsors the local drag races and puts in BRAND NEW cars and trucks every year. It's all about exposure.

Yeah they do, or else the salesmen get them as demo vehicles, or they are used as service loaners.
