beware vendor
Hey I know this really doesn't have all that much to do with the trouble you are having with your current vender...but like I ordered a carbon fiber hood from Andys Auto Sport...and I didn't receive until 2 1/2 months later. A lot of times stuff gets back ordered...and when they get stuff in stock its pretty much first come first serve. At least that is what I have been told...then again from what I can tell...they might be shady...I never buy crap from sites that only use PayPal...it just kinda makes me think some guy is running some shop out of his garage...I don't trust them.
I'm not trying to add gas to the fire or anything. I myself order a Cobalt Addiction Strut bar awhile back. It took me forever to get it also. I would say right around a month!! I understand things happen, back order, out of stock etc. I was never informed of any of this if it were the case. So the next night I go to put it on and it don't fit!!! What the hell is that? The brackets fit fine but the ajustable bar is way too big. At least a couple of inches. So I checked their website and mine is totally different from the pictures on the site. I called and talked to Kenny and he said just send it back. No, i'm sorry, no our mistake, just send it back! So now I have to find a box to fit the thing cause I threw mine out. It had a big hole in the top when I got it. Plus I have to pay shipping and all that stuff. He could have at least offered to pay me back for shipping. So I would have to pay for shipping twice for their mistake. I haven't sent it back yet and probably won't. I will just eat the $100 to save the hastle. Not bashing CA just giving my experience with them. You guys seem like great people just think things could have maybe been handled better.
Here is the Strut bar cross brace nice Aerospeed strut toer mounts kinda Mickey Mouse going to make my owen kinda copy what they had but make much nicer and thicker it may be 1/8 stamped steal welds

first nice job, painting and polishing your engine.
the bar itself looks good in the engine bay, but I agree, the mounting points look quite fragile.
do you notice the differance when driveing?

I made the same comments in my install thread for that bar link
I thought the welds looked terrible, and you are right the brackets are too thin. I guess we'll see how it holds up. I'm interested in your re-build of the brackets, let me know what you come up with.
Are we the only two with this installed on here?

All those who have bought the strut bars in the last month will get the new restyled strut tower mounts as soon as we get them in. We are having them professionally done because the ones that have been sent were not done very well and we didnt want to keep people waiting . But we will be sending new mounts in about 3 weeks when they come in. They will be powder coated and reinforced . The ends that were sent were prototype ends and we apoligize for the inconvience.
SSWeet06 i have no problem covering shipping as long as it is sent the same way we sent . Most time you could have repackaged the bar and sent it back RTS (return to Sender) . This is a free service as all postage everyone ever pays actually covers it being shipped both ways (many people do not know that). I did apoligize for the mixup and simply said just return the bar . Hopefully i can make it up to you on a future order and give you an extened discount for the mixup.
We are still working out all the bugs and those bars really shouldnt have gone out in that condition. I try and keep track of every simple thing around here but sometimes you have to trust your employees.
The problem with a small business is you cant just run out and get more employees...its not that easy ... many times we cannot afford new employees as that would raise prices and make us even less competitive . We try our best to deal with everything that comes up with our customers , manufacturers and general business stuff. Not always easy , but we try our best and are here for the long haul . We strive to get better everyday and unfortunately cannot make everyone happy but we try and make it up in other areas. Its not easy to run a business , make product , order product , answer emails , ship product , track product , read message boards , answer IMS , answer private messages , and follow up on every order. There's alot that goes into these vendors and sites that many people dont ever see and we try and make it as smoth as possible for the customer when most of the time its really a nightmare.
I take everything as constructive and try to improve each day . I try and focus on my employees to do better and push the limits . I would love to hire someone else , but the money just isnt there . I could cut back on products we sell and only sell the easy stuff that other vendors just resell....but i enjoy the car and community and want to see things pushed farther and made better . I enjoy making a one stop shop for people to easily find what they want and buy from a reliable company even though some items may take longer as the vehicle is still new. Many manufacturers have no stock built up yet so they make and ship them as there made instead of just pulling the item off the shelf.
Email isnt always the easiest and i cannot be online all the time as i do have to make things and work on customers cars and run the business . We do answer calls from 10 am - 7pm mon - friday . You might not get someone every time , but we are working on that and training someone who can handle most questions and give you some help. There are crunch times that we can't easily get all the calls because shipping needs to be finished on time for pickup , or we are in tthe middle of finishing someones install so they can be somewhere for a deadline. We are an active shop , not just some guy who sits at the computer all day. We work on cars , tune them and try and learn something new about them everyday. We have set up every possible means of communication , AIM (AUDIOXTC) , BADG1RL or COBALT-ADDICTION on forums , email kenny@cobalt-addiction.com or sales@cobalt-addiction.com , phone 631-903-3400. There is no way noone can't get ahold of one of us other than when the store is closed which is saturday and sunday.
Well i'm leaving work now (12:52am) to drive home 40 minutes , to be back here 6 hours later to help all you cobalt people . sorry for the ramble as im tired and it happens.
Goodnight , sorry to take up so much time ..

I want to personally say thank you for doing something about the strut bar brackets. It says a great deal about you and your company that you are going to replacing these parts, without this all turning ugly.
It might have been easier to read if you put some spaces in there, lol. But like I said, I'm glad to see you are doing the right thing about this. It will def. make us more likely to bring our future purchases back to your company.
Much respect

Yes cobalt-addict. is a n awesome shop to deal with, anyone in the local area should come and check them out. I've been there personally and plan on dealin a lot more with them.. Kenny's a good guy and does his best to make sure everything is taken care of on time... Wait until you guys see some of the stuff he has in the works for our cars.... Some real nice stuff...
oh yeah regarding the strut bar, he recieved the wrong mounts from tha manufacturer and had to remake them so they bolt up correctly, since so much bitching was goin on he didn't have time to remake the bracket and had to cut and reweld it to fit... I was at the shop last week and saw him about this.... they are being fixed and strengthened so just have some patience guys... they also make these in house so orders will take a bit oof time until the mounting bracket is fixed...
To Donna & kenny, Keep up the good work.
I"ll see you guys friday
