The bizzare story of my first dent

Well it was bound to happen eventually but I was hoping it wouldn't be in the first week. I have a dent and a small scratch. What is intersting is how it happened.

I parked my car in the yard Monday night because I wanted to get some gel on the tires and clean up the rims because my dealership did a bad job of detailing the car. About 1am we had a bad storm. I was awake and the power went out. I didn't think much of it until the morning when I went to clean up the car and I saw the panel for my neighbors outside phone box laying next to the car. Then I saw it, A small dent and a scratch on the door. I looked over at the phone box and it was totally fried. The wires were melted and everything was black. The only thing I can figure out is that lightning hit the telephone line or the neighbors house and the box sorta exploded and the cover hit my car. I think had the dent happened in a normal situation I would have been ticked but this was so bizzare and off the wall I just laughed. Seriously what are the chances of something like that happening?

Wow man... freaky.. If it is in the or closer to the center mass of the door have it fixed. Will be cheap to do. Just pop the panels and give a push on the door. Then touch up the pain and wala! Good as new.

this is one of the times where you're probably happy that you have comprehensive insurance...

I just kind of noticed a dent on my SS/SC, or rather an imperfection on the back bumper. I am thinking it is just an imperfection from the factory (car is only 2.5 weeks old) because it would be pretty damn hard to dent the plastic, and also it looks like more of a fold then a dent or ding. Anybody else have something like this?

I don't think I have heard of a fold on anyones car yet. You may run it by the dealership and have them check it out. They may replace the bumper for you.

If you do claim it under comprehensive, it shouldn't jack your rates.

Check how much it costs to lower a comprehensive deductible to $50 or $100...sometimes it is very cheap...worth the few bucks....

I guess I wouldn't really call it a fold. Kind of a ding but it's rather small, you can't really see it or feel it unless you get close to it or the light reflects of it right, but it is very annoying. It had to have been one of those things that was on the car when I bought it.

That really sucks. My first dent was on the passenger's side front wheel well from a shopping cart at work, right on the angle so it couldn't be popped out or else the paint will chip. My luck...
Sorry to hear.
