Braking options...
So ive been fighting with gm to replace my brakes since ive had to have them in 3 times to be resurfaced and they refuse to saying its my driving habits causing this, in which i replied that nothing like this has ever happed to any of my other cars with the same driving habits. anyway, im not sure which way to go on this upgrade on my celica i had hawk brake pads and they were awesome so im leaning towards those for the cobalt, but ive also been hearing great things about the ebc red stuff pads.
heres what my options are so tell me what you think:
Hawk Rear Pads = $53
Hawk Front Pads = $63
Power Slot Rear Rotors = $154
Power Slot Front Rotors = $176
Plus $125.00 shipped stainless steel brake lines from Cobalt addiction
Total = $575.00 shipped from dezod and ca
or
ebc red stuff front pads = $80
ebc red stuff rear pads = $70
power slot front rotors = $150
power slot rear rotors = $150
cobalt addiction ss brake lines = $125
Total = $575.00 (not sure if it includes shipping)

Ill sell you both my front and rear kit(SSBC) for like $1500. It's used but I'll give you new hardware(bolts, nuts, washers, pads) and brand new brake rotors. The only thing that won't be "brand new" are the calipers, but Ill clean them up. If you want, only reason Im offering is that I could really use the extra money.
I can assure you much more satisifaction on Hawk pads over EBC. EBC are very high friction coefficient have been known to eat and destroy rotors. Hawk are widely used on several auto-x, road race AND drag cars. I personally drive Hawk pads on both my car and my wife's and would not recommend them to you if I did not trust them 110%
yeah i dont wanna spend that much on brakes man sorry, but im sure someone will want them , and yeah hawk seems like a better choice to me, i was also told that cobalt addiction's ss brake line kit is not complete with the rear brakes so i have to look into that, does anyone know if turbo tech sells a complete kit?

well dude i just wanted you to know, so that you can go back at GM for it, every time they cut your rotors they are removing metal and making the rotors thinner. when it gets thinner it takes away some the rotor's ability to disapate the heat, thus making the rotors operate at a higher temperature and making them warp faster. i NEVER cut my rotors. once you cut your rotors even once i feel oyu signifigantly increase the likelyhood of warping your rotors even if you drive like a 90 year old man. go back at them by telling them that they caused it by cutting the rotors too thin and making them warp. they will probably pull out the micrometer and say it's within specs but stick to your guns and tell them that you don't care what that thing says they are too thin to effectively dicipate the heat. make them call GM if they refuse. i went thru the same thing and theytried BSing me but they didn't realize i was an ASE certified mechanic. took me some fighting but they finally replaced all 4 rotors.
Good Luck!!!! when i picked my car up the rotors were so pitted from rust that when i stepped on the brakes it almost ripped the wheel out of my hands. the stealership was like well we'll just cut them. i was like "like hell you will it's a brand new car with 100 miles on it you'll be putting new rotors on this car and filling it up with gas or you'll be taking the car back! so after 4 days of fighting they replaced the rotors, filled my car up with gas, and gave me a rental while they were replacing my rotors.
