So I wake up this morning, and find my car smashed against the curb. I walk out and take a seat in the car and find my e-brake broke! It only has 17k miles on it, is this normal?

 

sorry to hear. my car has had the e-brake fail 5 times. not from pulling it around corners, but jsut being parked and pulling it up.

 

thats why you should always park you car in gear. its an EMERGENCY BRAKE, not a PARKING BRAKE.

 

My E-brake sucks my ***** too. I walked outside to find my car in the middle of a parking lot numerous times (my own fault for forgetting to put it in gear). Even after adjusting our e-brake never seem that strong. IMO

 

Yeah I hear ya, I usually do but its always when you forget it.

Yeah it always felt a little weird, I guess its just poor manufacturing.

 

Automatics FTW.

 

just a heads up, consider it is an "emergency brake" it fails at the slightest pull when you are moving. its useless, lol. just leave it in gear. reverse works well. casue you notice it when you get in.
