The motor blew in the right side door mirror about 3 months ago. Took the dealership 2 months to order a new motor. I finally went to have it installed today. As the mechanic was trying to remove the glass panel, it shattered. Its already pissing me off.

So my question is, instead of waiting another 3 months for them to order a brand new housing to replace just the broke glass, can I order my own glass frame somewhere? And how hard would it be to install?

 

I would just get them to order it and then check another dealer and see if they can get it faster.(who ever gets it first can replace it no cost to you) As long as its under warranty why pay for it if you can get it free? You could always rig a mirror from Autozone or walmart in the mirror housing for the mean time.
