Well I got my cable in today. It is basically a headphone cord with two male ends on it. Not worth $15.00. I took apart the center console and sides and tried to look up to the cd player and couldn't find any plugs. I was going to take apart the dash and remove the CD player and check but that was way too much work. I don't think this cord will work out. Has anyone that has replaced the CD/MP3 stereo noticed any headphone jack AUX inputs on it??

The instructions say to plug it in the aux port on the front of you player. So it sounds like it was made for the 2007 models with the plug on front.

I just need a pic of the back to see if there is a port. Also, in the A/V section, they talked about checking for another input on the amp.

yea its seems like the cable you got is just one to hook up from the ipod headphone jack to the aux port on the front of the 07 head units.

See my response above with part numbers chipmunk.

As far as I know (I got this from another forumgoer on the .com clone) this part would work for most any head unit MP3 or not. But I don't know for sure call your parts man and ask for details or do a google on the P/N.

Edited to add: Googling the part number = nada.

Bought an FM transmitter the other day and the freakin' thing will only work if it's sitting on my trunk next to the antenna... what a waste of money. Plus the DFW area doesn't have many empty stations available for this.

My stock stereo was the CD/MP3, and it doesn't have an AUX input on it anywhere.....

So that is a bust on that cable...

Wow, I havent received mine yet and Im about to call my parts manager and bitch, lol. That or I'll call up thed Chevy dealership next door and see if one of their guys can help me. I'll try today and keep everyone posted.

Also, I have the Transpod, it plugs into the cigarette lighter and is a recharging port and mp3 interface for ANY stero, I use it in my cobalt all the time. Its $100 brand new but I got mine on ebay from a company in Canada that remanufactures them for $15 bucks + shipping. Its awesome and workds great I just cant use it through the steering wheels controls.

Yeah I have an iTrip for my iPod and as soon as i got it I opened up the casing and braided some thin copper wire around the existing antenna and make it about 2 times longer stretching it outside of the casing. It made teh sound quailty soo much better as well as the range.....It works awesome in cars with antennas in the front....but not our rear-antenna balts.

Man, this really sucks!

My Monster FM transmitter was terrible with all the static it gave, and the iRIVER one I have is only marginally better. I think my 1st line up there sums it up for everyone here...

I checked with my local cartoys.. while defanitly not experts on anything the salesperson did say it would probably be another six months before we see a non GM adapter on the market for our rides.

My iTrip works fine I guess. I will continue using that. There are a few stations around Metro Detroit that get no static, so I'll live.

Soooooo... Who wants to buy a GM Audio cable for $15.00??

Update

I got mine today. It is a 3.5 mm double male ended stereo plug. And not a very nice one anyway. Won't work unless you have a port on the face of your radio.

That sux, I didnt find one on my cobalt radio. I dont have the MP3 radio option. Which is what im assuming it works on. I did check one of the other cars on the list I gave in the beginning of the thread. The Cadillac DTS has a spot right on the face, which is im sure what all the other compatible radios have.
