Cam sensor housing timing

Can someone please help me !!!
having starting issues and a slight back fire.
timed the housing #1 tdc and the notch at 4 o’clock correct ??? Seen other post about #4 tdc and notch lined up with a mark on the housing. I’am confused.
would appreciate any help!!!

Tdc happens twice in a four cycle engine, im not sure which is correct, but you need to know if it was either at tdc exhaust or tdc compression.

from what I’ve been reading both ways use tdc compression.
