Can this car take 241 hp, stage 2 reliably/safely?

I know all about what GM is offering for this car regarding stages and upgrades.. But my question is - can this car take the power, and wear and tear these mods provide. Im not an auto x'er, and I don't plan on becoming one. But I would want to drive this car more aggressively than say a big sedan or something.

I want to be able to make hard turns and not worry about steering knuckles breaking. I want to be able to give it poop from time to time and not worry about axels breaking. And then theres paint that chips easy?

I have never been a fan of North American cars for these reason (aside from Corvette). But Im really close to buying a Balt, with stage 2.. Will it last if Im semi-nice to it?

Any high mile/kilometer balt owners out there? I want to hear from everyone!

I beat the **** out of my past stage 2 'balt daily. Never had a problem yet. I'm sure many others will verify they do the same. The LSJ is pretty bulletproof with a good tune.

Yeah, I was thinking more along the lines of a stage 2 LSJ and one with a 2.8 or something.

I have 22000 miles on mine in 11 months and it has help up quite nicely with no problems, I have stage 2, gmpp exhaust, K&N CAI and intense tranny mounts. The mounts make some of the plastic rattle at low rpms, but thats what you get with mounts lol.

I had problems with mine stock, from the interior paint chipping, the pcm was fried, along with the wiring harness, guess i got a semi-lemon, I went way past stage 2, i had almost all the bolt-ons with a 2.7, plus port without meth, and i went through two clutches, and alot fo tuning wooes, but with stage 2 you should be fine, just be good and take care of the car, and if you planing on runing it hard, or at the track, a clutch and axles would be a wise choice.

If you treat it good it will treat you good. There are certain things we know about this car that will harm it. The main one being if you start to wheel hope shut it down ASAP. Other then that though it's pretty reliable. I have had no problems and certainly don't regret my purchase.

if you have it installed at a chevrolet dealership you have nothing to worry about because the stage 2 IS covered under your warranty. I work at a chevrolet dealership and have had this verified!

So if I get the stage 2 package with the cobalt, are there any other mods I need to make?? As long as I don't auto x or get too crazy.. The car (steerin knuckles, axels, etc etc etc) can take stage 2 upgrade stock????

It is a wicked car just the back seat is too small.I have 2 kids in car seats and it is a pain to get them in an out. So were always using the Envoy (pig on gas).I could probably do it with stage II and what I said for $26,000.

A side question, is there anywhere online where one could look at these stage kits? the GMPP site doesn't list any parts.

Stage II is no problem for the Cobalt. There is a 270 hp turbo version coming. We shall see of torque steer is a problem for the turbo Cobalt.
