thats still being determined... its not entirely sure when the forged rods were phased out.

Bolt pattern on the intake manifold is LE5, valve cover says VVT and has the VVT sensors. It's a 2.4 LE5. Can we close this thread please?

I know this.

I said that, because they offered VVT on 2.2's after they phased out the 2.4. In 2007, the 2.4 was the only engine option with VVT for the Cobalt. That's what I was getting at. Thus making it more clear why the engine the OP posted is infact a 2.4.

ok....that Ecotec motor is a 2.4L Ecotec VVT....thats your answer for sure and thats final....its a 2.4L Engine
