Can you Buy a extended warrenty before it expires?

I was just wundering if you can purchase a new extended warrenty before the 2 year expires? I have till June of 06 I never got my sunroof switch fixed after it broke last year. Yeah I know it stupid of me not to have brought it in but I went over my Milage and thought Gm would void my warrenty. But My Gf said they wont becuase even tho I broke my Lease on 12k Miles a year she said your Warrenty is still coverd If I stay under like 48k miles wich is in my 4 year smart buy lease. So is she correct? I am having problems with my criuse control button also. Sometimes when I Press it it wont come on its really anoying when I am driving on the highway and it wont let meeee ughhh

Your post is extremely confusing to read, but I'll take a stab.

You can buy an extended warranty up until your factory warranty expires. After that you're SOL in most cases.

As for your mileage stuff, it sounds like you're confusing your lease mileage with your warranty mileage. You have an '05 which mean you're covered for 3 years/36kmi after your purchase bumper to bumper. This has nothing to do with your lease mileage, you can drive 35kmi in the first week you own the car on 12kmi/1 year lease and still have warranty coverage.

You're lease has a limit of 48kmi, so you'll have no warranty (excpet the powertrain) for the last 12kmi of your lease.

BTW - your lease isn't limited to 12kmi/year, but rather a total. If you have a 2-year, 12kmi/year lease, and you put 13kmi in the first year, and 11kmi in the second you haven't gone over.

Well, most extended warranties are sold by the dealership, but provided by a 3rd party, and also when buying used, you can purchase warranties. I don't see why you wouldn't be able to at any point in time, providing your vehicle passes inspection. Those warranties aren't cheap, though.

you'd have to pass the inspection, if the shop would even do it for you. And they aren't going to cover it for the sunroof switch if it isn't fixed before they inspect it.

But like I said, you have 26kmi on your car, which means as long as you haven't had it for more than 3 years you're still covered.
