They really can't do much if the codes are not in the system but I think they still should be stored in history, sorry to tell you this but you got a duchbag tech, trust me I've worked with a couple of them. In my experience with these engine gm actually has bullitin for erratic drivability issues and it has to do with the injectors clogging up randomly. The recommended service repair is to do an injector flush. You prob wont have the special fuel system adapter to run the pressurized BG induction cleaner into the injectors but BG has a 44K treatment that they call it and just put one can of it in your tank before you fill it up and that stuff works great to clean out your fuel system. I've used it many times to get cars to pass emmissions with Hydrocarbon issues. Most GM dealers should carry BG chemicals if not the other places I have seen them are motorcycle stores, but I guess it depends on your area.

Funny you mentioned that I had an arguement with one of our service advisors last week, she was like why the hell did you put mobile one in that sky you just changed the oil on. I'm like cause it REQUIRES mobile one syth. She like the book says nothing about it and we only charged her 30 bucks and not the 80 for mobile one. I'm like you need to update your book cause it says it right on the cap, and the damned thing is turboed, and you should know forced induction cars gm makes have all required mobile one syth in the last 5 years or so.

Yea that's what I was thinking the whole time. I wasn't going to get into it with the tech because it wasn't worth it. Obviously it's 91+ since it's in the MANUAL, but I guess GM didn't pass that along. It just amazes me how little some of these dealers know about the cars they sell. It's actually kinda scary.

Anyway, I've always used 'super' in my 'balt. And I almost always use the Shell V-Power in it unless I'm way low on fuel and can't get to one.

Badassz69, I'll try to find that BG 44k stuff you were talking about...

I was not aware that a blinking cel was always a misfire. I had somthing similar happen to my 2.4 i popped the hood and the rubber coupling from my gmpp intake had slipped off the air box. I just reattached it and poof no more cel.
