Long time reader but barely post... Going to keep this as simple as possible…

After I installed the Hurst short shifter I've been having problems shifting into 2nd & 5th gear at high RMPS. It seems like there's something blocking the gears. You have to really play around with it to get it to drop into the gear. Driving normally (shifting @ 3500-4000) you can almost fell something blocking 2nd gear but you can still get it in gear hard to explain. The other gears fell fine. I have played around with the shifting cables but nothing seems to fix the “blockage” feeling. What do you guys think? By the way I’m @ 35000ish miles and on stock clutch. Maybe time for a new clutch?

sounds like time to check the install on your hurst.

 

Sound like a linkage issue
but im not sure if cobalts have linkage or cables
Id say start with that
