=Its sick some of you have more remorse for the driver that killed someone because there "a tax payer bs bs bs" then the person that died. Have you ever had anyone you know killed and taken when no one would suspect it? Probably not, if thats your perception. I feel no remorse for the kid in jail period. and think your sick if you do have remorse for him

I am the same way, I would be extremely upset if I was in an accident that was my fault and someone was killed. But here's where it get's sketchy for me. If the person was drinking prior and legally drunk. I won't say all, but I'll go out ona limb and say 90% of the individuals who are responsible adults do not go out and drive drunk. Once again, probably 90%.

It's erie man, people come in for vehicular manslaughter because they were driving drunk and they walk around and act as if they did absolutely nothing wrong. Sure, maybe they feel a little bit of guilt, but I'll say less than 1% of those who come in are actually truly and sincerely sorry and regret their decision.
gven how long the court process is, they have probably done their fare share of crying by the time they get to you. I'm sure many have even talked to the families of those lost by this point. They could be in court for months before finally being sentenced. By the time they get in jail, they may switch to a "whats done is done, and i must serve my time" mentality, because you cant go around moping for 12 months. I'm sure many of them think about it all the time.

As far as acting like they did nothing wrong, when you're in a prison with people who have purposely committed crimes, many of which are pretty extreme or violent, you feel that your accident is almost nothing in comparison. You didnt go out and rob a man at gun point, or shoot someone in a fit of rage. You made a careless mistake (that happened to have horrible consequences).

Im just trying to make sure you look at all the possible scenarios, because i find it hard to believe that most people who accidentally killed an innocent person because they did something stupid dont even feel sorry.

I'm not saying that he was right(in fact, it was a quite stupid idea). I'm just saying not to be bias or presume that he ment to do what happened or that he doesnt care, or feel remorseful. Some DONT care, while on the otherhand, some feel as though THEY were the ones who should have been hurt and injured. I know its not fair, but no one said that life would be fair....but one thing that we can do is be fair to this guy and not predict the way that he feels.

People that drive drunk are wrong obviously, but it does not mean we can catorgorize people into one group. and to say that people dont have remorce your wrong.

I personally have gotten a DUI, am i sorry, yes. did i learn my lesson, yes.

And for people that say that they have NEVER drank and drove...hmmmmmmm. I doubt it. i have a breathalyzer in my car now, and there are some mornings when I wake up and I cannot start my car. think about that, you might not drive the night when you are drinking but the next morning, if you kill somone its you we are gonna be talking about on here.
