Whatever you do.. best of luck!

On another note, does anyone here have any experience (SP?) with convertibles?

My brother had a J-body 1989 Cavalier Z24 convertible. That car would not die. All convertibles will eventually leak from the top. I still have a hard time believing that car stood up to my brother's abuse for 3 years. Those 2.8L V6's can't be killed.
That car did have problems though.
It was my brother's daily driver and the top leaked.
The ONE time he let me drive it, the entire exhaust fell off on the highway
It never idles right
Despite the stereo he had in that car (which was blasting every time he drove), you ALWAYS heard the engine before the stereo

So much he ruined on that car. I honestly felt sad for it.

The best person probably on this whole website would be RHZ. He recently (less then a month ago) traded in his cobalt ss for a Sky RL. Here is the link to his thread
https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/08-1...ersion-287237/
On the subject of the Solstice, that car is way uglier then the sky. The whole front end of the soltice just looks like **** but for the Sky i think the color is a huge part of the looks. The silver on the Sky looks ugly imo but any shade of red looks amazing to me
Last if you like the SkyRL but also want a v8 then you could look into mallet cars. Here is the link
Mallett Cars V8 Sky Conversion

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction eccarwiz. Not a bad quick thread to read. The Mallet is WAY outta the price range I'm looking at.

About an S2k, not the car for me. Don't like the look or feel of one personally.

LNF Kappas are ******* badass. If you can get away with only bringing 2 energy drinks a pair of sunglasses and a gym bag anywhere you need to go i'd say go for it. I don't regret buying mine one bit, i would say it is an upgrade due to RWD- you don't realize how shitty torque steer is until you don't have it and launching is incredible. Downgrade in terms of practicality- only room for 1 bitch.

In general, how much does an 09 Cobalt SS 60k miles go for these days? I'm just curious if they've been selling for more than kbb or not.

13.5-14.5 for a 60k millage one... I wouldn't sell mine for anything less than 14.5 lol

not a fan of those at all. Either Sky redline or GXP but good luck on your search! I think a used EVO or STi would be an upgrade.

The EVO os STi would be nice, but I like the LNF motor too much and GM never made something AWD powered by the LNF. I thought 13.5-14 would be about right which is awesome since I paid 14.5 for mine two years ago. Well, I'll post pictures if anything goes down, but I doubt it will happen soon.

Regal GS is front wheel drive.

ATS is the only option for the RWD with the LTG (next gen LNF) put are close to 40k in price

Opel GT = Saturn Sky. True story. Both built in the same factory, in America, on the Same assembly line using the same parts.
