I am on my 3rd Cobalt.... and it will be my last... not because of problems or it being unreliable...

just outgrowing the car...

If you take care of the car it will take care of you as well... I have never had any problems that weren't my own fault with any of the 3.

All but 1 has been heavily modified for the majority of their lives... my SC car was modded after 3000 miles the LNF car has been modded since it had just 1000 miles and it runs strong today as it did 17000 miles ago!

It's all in how you take care of it, one is no more reliable than the other, so the people saying the TC is the most unreliable shut your face(funny how it's SC owners saying it too). Overall if it is well taken care of, it will last a good long while.

DING DING DING... the LSJ and LNF are equally reliable. It's all USER ERROR 99% of the time.

Is this because I left in the midst of the night again? I told you I had to go to work at like 6am and I found your alarm clock unreliable.

I know lol the TC hasn't even been out long enough to really make such a stupid statement anyway. 35k miles here, 32k of them tuned. No problems.

my ss sc has 70k miles and is highly modified, i beat the ever living **** out of it. but i also do ALL of the maintenance myself. occassionally i break stuff, but all of it is extreme abuse related, like 5 back to back passes down the track dumping the clutch at 3k rpms. clutch survived slave cylinder not so much. the way i figure it, if i was nice to this car it would last damn near forever.

Yeah I'm also going to DD the big turbo set up. That's a testament to the reliability of the car too.

Fairly. The SS/TC has the shitty brake and purge solenoid problems but thats it. I've had mine for 36,xxx miles and thats the only problems I've had. But I had my SS/SC for 40,xxx miles and never had a single issue.

My car has been properly maintained and not abused, but I still have had tons of problems with it. It's been to the dealer way too many times for a car with less than 30k miles on it.

as for the statement that the tc is more reliable, this is not true.
I have a friend who works at a chevy dealer and they have put a couple turbos and other parts on a tc they have there, and the rear brakes have problems and intercooler problems i believe too
lsj's had their issuesbut are mostly taken care of.

I wouldnt say the brake issue or the recalled intercooler coupler is a sign of bad reliability. Its more major engine/non driving the car issues we should be talking about.

You can count on both the lnf/lsf to lack resale value though
