Cobalt ss/sc motor used in Ariel Atom?

Was hanging around the clubrsx boards and they were arguing about the British car the ariel atom compared to the new Z06. As I was searching through the web site I saw that there using the same superchargerd motor that comes in our cars. At first they used to use a supercharged j-spec integra type-r motor, Don't know why they switched but still cool anyways. Not sure if this has been discussed already but heres the info.

vid of original ariel atom:

Web site on ariel atom spec's (Go to features and specs.Theres a red bar to let you scroll down the specs sheet):

I thought it used a motor from the Honda Civic type R...hmmm...that's at least what "Top Gear" presented.

The American Version of the Atom, Has the old Type R engine, Or the SS/SC engine, But the British version, Has a Supercharged version of the British Type R Which had more HP, I think.

Makes sense. He said that the supercharged version makes 300 bhp. That seemed steep to me.

If you hit up the website they have a GM engine which has the same specs as our Engine (LSJ) and they have a IVtec honda engine as well....

Then they have options for a 257 and 300 HP supercharged version on top of that. Thing looks freakin sweet, I would have been wearing a helmet if I was that test driver

man I love that car, I also saw the review on Topgear. I wonder what they did to get 300hp out of the LSJ version.
