Cobalt ss sc on Progressive insurance
Cobalt ss sc on Progressive insurance
First off Progressive would not be my first choice for insurance, but you can do an online quote to get an idea what you insurance will be.
For me 2005 ss and my beater 95 Neon, 500 deductible comprehensive, and collision, age 30, no tickets or accidents. $577 for 6 months, only discount is for multi-car. About what I expected. Much better than I was quoted for a SRT-4

I mean they must have some really good stuff, because I talked to my insurance co. back in Dec and they told me the Cobalt SS/sc was going to be cheaper to insure than a Cav LS sport because the car classification was 2 levels lower on the Cobalt. I was paying around $1100 a year and thats with 30k miles a year, middle of the road coverage, roadside assit, rental, and $500 deduct. Oh well I had progressive pay me 45k for a settlement about 6 years ago anyway, I'll let someone else pay them.

I have a quote from Geico for $723.10 for six months.. $500 ded... Basicaly State limitaions on a Leased or Smart Buy... Full Glass....
Mind you.. I'm turning 30 in July.. and I have a crystal clean record..
and I have been with them for 3 years... So I think I have a good quote also...
P.S. I didnt have my Vin number and still dont
No build date yet, but I know what my car is going to have.. and it's all basicaly standard safety stuff in there anyway.

In Canada we killed with insurance. I am getting my insurance for $1930 a year for full coverage including a few extra policy add on's. I have a $1000 ded.
My alero was $1524. Thats a family plan too, so I get a huge rebate. If I was on my own, it would be about $3200 a year. And that is for a 24 year old with no tickets or accidents. I know 23 year olds driving 1996 Grand Am SE's paying $6200 a year here

Man living in in NYC is killer...I got quoted around $4500 a year for the Cobalt SS. 22, no tix listed (well they will no longer be on there when I get the car
), clean record, etc etc etc...
Damnit. It's what I expected though. Most people I know have about the same if not more for insurance around here.

I did mine on progressive today too. With no rental insurance, having this car as a primary driver with my 03cobra, and a $500 deductible, I think my quote was $124 per month, or 1248 per year. I think an SRT-4 was about $150 per month for me.
I'm 24 with 1 ticket (I went straight when the sign said to only turn right.)
If you raise the deductible, or get rid of rental insurance, you can lower your premium quite a bit.

For 250 collision and 100 comprehensive deductable I will pay about 700 every six months. For 500 deductables it only drops to about 500. So I may go with that but I am unsure, main reason I would is because I would save 400 in a year and thus have the deductable covered. It's hard to say which way I will go.

In BC we have it good (I keep BC insurance in Alberta because I'm a student). I pay $950/year on my 94 Z24, and I get 5% discount every year without claims to a peak of 54% discount!!!
Also, speeding ticket have NO impact on insurance, nor does age. The only thing that impacts your rate is claim history.
^ ^ ^ Doesn't Alberta have a Public System there as well. Wow, makes me want to move out west, here in NS (when i was 19) i paid $3200/year for 200K liability only. At 21 it decreased to $2500/year : no collision. Car is a 2002 sunfire coupe.
i called state farm today, they quoted me at about 212 a month......ouch thats expensive, 20 with a speeding ticket, cant wait till im 21 to get that discount. progressive was a little cheaper but I may go with GMAC Insurance, since I'll get some kind of discount

Sweet...last time I went to Progressive (about 3 weeks ago), they didn't have the SS listed. Even with two speeding tickets, I was quoted a great price for an SRT-4 from Progressive. Just using the SRT-4 as a similar template. Now..the car just needs to get out. BAH.
Until yesterday, I had been fighting insurance company over my new Cobalt LS sedan. At first when I entered the VIN of the car online to change my policy over, it came up as an LT, so I e-mailed them and asked them to change it. Apparently, they changed it to a base 2-door coupe instead, so the new 6-month premium became $988/6 months, not the $918/6 months they had originally quoted me.
I was about to photocopy the window sticker, Certificate of Origin and any other paperwork needed and send it in to prove I wasn't crazy, but I decided to call the folks at Capital One Insurance yesterday. They don't write insurance -- they just give quotes. They were able to get me a policy with Progressive for $584/6 months.

for my ss s/c in nj through New Jersey Manufacturers insurance
23 years old
clean record
full coverage
$2011 a year.
I am happy because liability only on my 99 vw is about 1,300 to 1,600 a year (i forget).

Not too bad here in Florida. 32 and I've got one ticket, 71 in a 55, no accidents.
The Progressive quote was $2772/year for BOTH a Cobalt SS/SC and my 2004 Chevy Express 1500 work van (business insured).
I'm paying about $3500/year right now with Nationwide between my '98 Grand Prix GTP and the work van, but mostly because the speeding ticket was entered as 91/55 by mistake.
I was paying about $2600/year before the ticket. Hopefully will finally have that fixed this week. Think Progressive will still be quite a bit cheaper than Nationwide after my driving record shows correctly, though. Anyone have Progressive and filed a claim? Was just wondering how they compare...

Insurance has soooo many variables it's not even funny.
First off, the two primary issues are the driver and the car. These have the biggest obvious impact on the cost of your policy.
Second, things like where you live and where you work, how many miles you drive in a year, whether you park it inside or outside, in a driveway or on the side of the road. There's a ton of them, most of them they already know the answer to (as to whether you address even has a garage) but some of them they ask, like the miles. A car you drive more often is more likely to get into an accident than a car that sits in the driveway.
Also, some cities and states are more expensive to insure a vehicle in. The insurance company is taking more of a risk insuring a car in a high crime city/state than in a low crime city/state, so the rates will be higher.
So two people that are statistically the same, can apply for the same vehicle through the same company and they'll get two totally different rates.
Comparing them is just kinda silly.

Anyone in Ontario, try State Farm, i called my rep and they quoted me at $152.00 per month for a SS/SC. No accidents or claims, just 2 speeding tickets
The cheapest quote I've gotten so far is $148 from President's Choice.
