cobalt support

hello first off let me say im not new to working on cars lol but i am new cars and especially pulling engines from front wheel drive cars.... i was wondering if people could post up a few pics of how the support the car while pulling the subframe with the motor and tranny. i have a spun rod bearing and need to pull the motor. so where is the best places to support the car....do i need to only lift front of car or should i lift it front and back etc..... and if theres a thread already explaining this please post it because i couldnt find much info......

i put the car on jack stands pretty low. then dropped my cradle onto a little cart i had laying around. i just hooked a cherry picker up to the front and picked the car over the motor so i could pull it out

You can use a cherry picker and just wrap the chain around the crash beam, lifting the entire front of the Car off of the subframe

cool thanks guys that seems to be pretty easy.........compared to putting car on stands and lowering the cradle......now by crash beam you you mean the upper radiator support or the steel piece behind the front bumper? I'm guessing its behind the bumper and by using that i would have to remove the front bumper........lol trying to do it as quick as possible so i can get the frame back on and the car rolled out of the garage for another project im hoping to start on soon....

what'd you do about the front bumper on your Ion? I noticed mine attached to the fender with rivets so I never took it off

its not riveted. its actually clipped the rivet is to the plastic mount in there. motors on a carpet cart with a fancy rope to pull that bitch around
