Get rid of your lemon and buy my badass modded 9k miles cobalt. Mine is a 06 and I have had 0 problems. Well, I had a flat tire one time but that has nothing to do with mechanics.

MKulrey13, your a freaking idiot. Go drive your P.O.S. 4 door 2.2 and gtfo. Unlike half the idiots on here i've done all the work on my car, except for this shitty interior.

Maybe that's the problem?

Sorry if this is off topic...

I love that there are mature individuals on this board who have no problems talking down the immature noobs who come on the board bashing everything without keeping an open mind...

If you look at 240sx forums... thats all they are filled with, and as such are very frustrating...

Coming from a DSM forum - which by god is the most mature forum I have EVER seen - this is a breath of fresh air as I was half-expecting a forum full of noobs

As for terrible cobalts? I know that I have only had my car for a little over a week, but really, the only problem I have seen with it so far is the sunroof switch/bezel... and that was warrantied as per TSB

240 forums can be very awful.

I drove a RWD 300+ hp car from the 70's for years in chicago. The TC that i can't turn off on my 2.4 ss honestly makes this way worse than any car i have ever driven in any weather except dry days. I will take big sloppy RWD any day over comes to a dead stop when you turn out of an intersection because of ice or snow or to a lesser extent rain.

Any one else get that alarm that goes off when you have no traction for like 10 seconds that just adds an obnoxious bing bing bing and "Service Traction" comes on the display and the only way to make it stop is to pull over and shut down the car.

Yeah Ide rather deal with having to break a little sooner and launching wih less gas in the winter.

its been scientifically proven that on dry pavement, ABS and traction control are godly.

loose surfaces...like gravel...or snow....its been proven to actually make braking distances WORSE.

How they remain permanant safety features i do not know.

but you are bang on.

hey, i know XCRunna. He really isn't a tool bag, i promise.

He was just pissed because honestly about every other week, his car is in the shop for some stupid problem. My bronco with almost 190,000 miles on it doesn't give as much problems as his does. Plus, i've been in the car when it does this sputtering ****, which is unrelated to the cruise control, and its pretty scary ****. Its like it completly runs out of fuel in the fuel lines, the all of a sudden dumps fuel in.

His car did it all the way home once he got off the highway, and thats a good 15 minute ride of excessive jumping. I can understand why he's pissed. And I know yall think he's just a noob with an attitude, but he really doesn't have a problem driving. If porsche's new factory race driver is 21, don't you think its possible for a 18 year old to be a decent sport compact driver who knows how to properly operate a clutch.

I'd actually consider getting a cobalt, especially the price of the used SS/SC's around here, but the reliability of his makes me think its not such a good idea.

Skipper.

Every other damn week my cobalt is in the shop!!! door lock doesnt work....cruise control stopped working with a big jolt threw the tranny and sent off a CEL....MAF sensor toasted...**** falls off! im tired of it we should all trade them in and just go get an 05 mustang gt....way better!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

if he didnt step into the thread like a noob with an attitude, we wouldnt treat him like a noob with an attitude.

ha ha, yeah. I agree.

and the mustang comment wasn't the best thing to throw in there (although i'd love a new gt).

But he's not the douche that this thread makes him seem. Give him a break, and try to ignore the comments he's made.

he apologised. that gave him more credibility than any of his other posts.

we all get flustered sometimes and overreact. you just gotta realise that when your post count is tiny, a community wont have much patience for your outbursts.

I think youll find that people around here arent gonna hold a grudge for it

interior pieces is a common problem with paint flaking.
mine hasnt done it personally.
any check engine lights ive ever had have been my fault.

no jolting shuddering really. ive had it cough once or twice going through the rpms, usually due to a dirty maf sensor, but never prolonged jolting.

BS!

I Love my cobalt 06 I just yesterday had this happen I thought it could be clutch.

Just to toss somthing Nice about the cobalt out I got it to break its tires loose Shifting into gear with the 2.4 Auto With just a B&M shitf plus and a GMPP intake. Ive never had another FWD 4 banger do that so to me thats impressive.

Kinda random I know but there is no hard and fast rules about hating or loving your balt Like any other car it has its pros and cons. I mean think of DSM owners they were sweet cars till the plague came and wiped em out in 2004 er so
