Cobalt vs Guardrail

Basically lost traction in the wet snow, car did a 180 straight into the guardrail. Airbags did not deploy though and was surprisingly still drivable. Right now it's gonna get towed to the body shop for an estimate..

Can't see it in the pics, but it's cracked near the drivers side fender. The whole front end is getting replaced. Also gonna need new projectors and aiming those things are a PIA

Did the same thing in my old Corolla a couple years ago...guard rail doing about 60, but backed into it. Car was still drivable, but the back end was completely fucked and entirely not worth fixing. Good luck fixing it, glad you're OK, and slow the **** down in the snow.

IMHO if it were me i would go to the junk yard and find another bumper and other parts you might need that are damaged and just get them painted if needed. Will cost you less in the long run because im sure your gonna have a detuctable and then have fun when ur monthly insurance rates go up which is gonna end up costing you more than 2k in the long run. So i would do some junk yard hunting might be able to find everything you need there for 750-1k if that cause it only looks like plastic damage.

Easily the damage is in the $2500 range. Usually a hit like that to the front will render the AC Condenser and radiator unusable.

I stopped by the body shop today, theres no frame damage, but the AC condenser has slight damage to the fins and is getting replaced. Other than that, only the plastic parts are likely getting replaced and maybe the hood.

How did you end up with 8k worth of damage? You mustoff really smacked into a guardrail. I'm glad these Cobalts seem to hold up pretty well in accidents.
