Unhappy Cobalt vs Tractor Trailer

my baby got eaten by a tractor trailer last night
i pulled out of a parking lot behind him onto an access road to get to the main street
he had no turn signals on, and he was in the middle lane, so i went around him
i stopped at the edge of the road to make a right, im creepin up past the tractor trailer to see oncoming traffic
next thing i know, he goes for me, and turns into me
fast and furious style, my car goes under the trailor, except it didnt fit

he scraped from my windshield/A pillar all the way to the little coupe window
thank God he didn't hit my quarter panel

so i need all new glass, new Apillar thingy, new doors/locks, mirror
i need a new wheel/tire combo cuz the front right dug into the ground and got f-ed up

they say only a week of work, but i doubt itll be that quick.
i already pay $2400 a year in insurance, and i have no speeding tickets, only 1 accident ($1500) from 4 years ago

sucks bein young with a nice car

he asked if i was ok
'no, the cuts on my hands and face were there before you ran into me'

then he bitched at me and said he had his signal on
he avoided me soon after, cuz i was really pissed, and im pretty intimidating in person

i kinda wish i had thrown punches, but im glad i didnt

dont know yet, im payin the deductible to get things rolling
insurance will battle it out, hopefully win in my favor, and reimburse me for the deductible

regardless of whether or not he incorrectly made his turn, he hit me, so we think we may have a good case

that sucks!! I went to my local police department and got one... cost me 10 cents.... Of course, my local police department is small so it wasnt really a hassle for them to do it either...

Legally you should be entitled to a copy. You have to go to the Police Department and put in a request. They will probably charge you like $10 processig fee, but then you have all the "facts".

If there is a legal document with your name on it, You can have access to it. You can even have access to the cops notebook if it involves you.

Unhappy

Sorry to hear about the accident, Tiny. That's really scary to be tangled with a semi like that. Glad you are OK. Hopefully your baby will be fixed as good as new.

Did you have the optional side head-curtain airbags? Did they go off, or the steering wheel airbag?

I myself dont know too much about insurance, but my dad owns an auto body shop and deals with insurance all day long, he always says be persistant and dont let up on what you want, eventually they will cave in.

Exclamation glad your ok

Glad your ok .More than likely it will be the truck drivers fault. And if he was makeing a right turn or comeing into the right lane you was in thats there blind side pretty much.
Your very lucky that you didnt get hurt. I drive a truck for a liveing and have seen more than my fair share of what happens when things go wrong.Whats really sad any more now days i use to be always afraid of the cars around me now its my fellow drivers im around that i worry more about than the cars. Something for everyone to think about when your going down the roadways keep a extra safe distance from the big trucks to many things can go wrong fast and add in the fact theres alot of younger truck drivers just out of school that dont have a clue. PS ya my son found that out on the car insurance. Really sucks

Sucks to hear that man. I got into a wreck 3 weeks after having my SS/SC and did $9,768 in damages. I hit a deer going 65 on the interstate at night. Tree's on both sides and never seen it coming. Weird thing was my airbags didn't deploy. Luckly I was ok. It took them a month to get mine back. Might take that time for you also. You'll bee lucky to have it back in a week. All of the parts had to be took off the assembly line since the car is so new. Good Luck though! Glad you're ok!
