Coming Soon!!

JBodyPerformance Lightweight Pulley.

Link

The JBP crankshaft pulley has been balanced and hardened for longevity.
This piece is a great bolt-on mod for anyone needing to improve "out-of-the-hole" performance. Get to your powerband quicker and decrease your 1/4 mile times.

- Stock sized to maintain serpentine ratio.
- Lightweight to free up initial inertia resistance.
- Case Hardened, Black Finish

I have added it to the CED site and we will post up more information as we get it.

is this even safe for our engines? I know in the celica world the lightweight pullies removed some kind of dampner and the extra vibrations started to screw up the engine. How does this one fare for our engines?

most crank pullies are actualy 3 peices. you have the hub, a rubber peice, then the outer ring, in our case, it drives the belt. this design is meant ot absorb harmonic vibrations in the engine. these vibration can be transmitted through the engine, shortening the service life of it. our motors are designed for a harmonic damper, most lightweight crank pullies are 1 peice aluminum. these should only be used for high performance race engines.

i know im going to catch flak for saying that, as many will argue that they cause no issues. granted in a short time they wont, but over the years, sure it will.

Just saw this post now.. You're on the ball sharkey with regards to the function of the harmonic damper... The spec range of what the stock harmonic does is very limited; There's a high frequency tone that the damper removes, but this tone is nullified when anything on the rotating assembly is changed. Our engines are internally balanced which means that they experience a lot less of these harmonics than found on externally balanced engines, such as a 454 BBC. The effects are extremely small without having the dampening present. Remember, lots of ppl have changed clutches, flywheels and other components which also nullify the effective range of the stock harmonic damper... not by much, but by some.

Just out of curiousity, any dyno numbers to show the benefits, i.e. extra HP, TQ, or shifted powerband? Also I am assuming no tuning is needed to take advantage of said shifted powerband.

From current chatter, I've heard if frees up about 5HP across the board.

Unfortunately, this pulley isn't for you, that is, if you engine is the LE5 as in your sig. This pulley is for the LSJ only. There's a few big differences between the two pulleys.

The current rumors are actually correct (for once).. 5whp is what we show on the dyno with one tester. We're hoping for our other tester to come in for install shortly and dyno the vehicle... His car is more modified and we anticipate better gains with his vehicle. So we're not totally sold on 5whp as a max. gain yet.
