Complaint sent to GM

The sun removed the rear view mirror off my 2001 Cavy Z24 the other week. I took it to the dealer who basically used every rule in the book to have me go elswhere to get it fixed!!!! First they tried the warranty is up bullshit and then they tried to say the glue they have isn't as good as the glue they use at Standard Auto Glass. I said screw the service dept. and talked to the salesman who sold my the car and he said,"Fine, take it to Standard Auto and bring back the receipt". So, I get to the Standard Auto place and the guy has it fixed in 5 mins flat. he said,"Your only the fourth person ever to be outsourced from those bastards at BOB JOHNSTON's so I'm doing this for free because I don't want to give them the satisfaction of knowing I charged you anything!!!!!!" He also said,"They don't want to pay the mechanics an hour wages to do a five minute job" I then called GM directly and lodged a complaint against the dealer which they are investigating now. :

There are plenty of jobs that don't pay an hour to the mechanics, unless GM has the job rated completely wrong.

if they really wanted your business they would have just fixed it. I know lots of dealerships hear stupid **** everyday but to not fix a small problem is just insane. Most places will go the extra mile to help you.. if it means they can sell you something else down the road.

I'd figure that this is at the very least a safety issue and would be covered under any warrenty. Hell, sending me to the other place.......I could be stopped by the cops or got into an accident.

Bought my SS from another dealership.............................Should be picking it up this week or next.

That same service tech: Brought it in for an oil change..................waited almost 3 hours...............Then they brought me in and said I need new tires all around and new brakes back and front etc............cost $2500. I said," do the oil change, give me my car and **** you!!!!!!!!" Took it to Joe Blow on the corner and they said,"Ok, you need new front pads on the car but the rear brakes are still more than 60%" So , I paid $120.00 and was on my way.

Buy the way, This is in my complaint to GM as well.

**** i would have only been payed 1/10 of hour (.1)

i can understand them not wanting to waste your time but for them to tell ya warranty is up and then try to sell struts without even putting it up in the air

that is why i dont work for the dealership!

i cant wait until i am settled with the dealership and they have no further leverage on me anymore

Look at the top of your fender near the windshield because it may be loose, I had the same problem.

Now why would u want to do that?

If u do see him at the local bar...calmly walk outside...kick/punch/beat/smash his car with whatever object there is. Wait for him to come back out...

When he see's it, say..."There is a cure for that, i dont know how much it's ganna cost ya, but my friends does body work. I'll get u a quote from him, dont worry he's like u, he knows everything and doesnt have to look at the damage it's probably ganna be like $250.00"

I'm not saying the sales guys are all shifty but it's the managers over them and in particular the service dept. At first everything was ok, I took the car in for the routine oil changes and checks but I soon found out that they weren't rotating the tires. It just gets worse from there on.............

Wow

I agree with Tiny. Only a chick would take their car into the dealership to have their mirror reattached. They sell the glue at any autostore and even at walmart type stores. All you gotta do is put a spot of glue on the bracket in the same spot, then paste the bracket to your windshield.

I understand that the dealership didn't satisfy you, "the customer." But really who goes to the dealership with a car to have the mirror reattached?

I was a lube tech at Chrysler awhile ago and I used to do these atleast once a day, don't have to get a tech to use some glue.....

I agree... That is why I paid for the warrenty!!!!! Now, I was only an hour away from having to be at work also..............I'm in the Dental bizz and had a patient with an appointment who would have been waiting for me. Had it been at the end of the day then yes I could have done it myself. Here's another way of looking at it..........When I was younger I had all the time in the world. I could spend a few hours tuning and doing an oil change in the driveway. Now, I can have joe blow on the corner do it and be at work making 10X what it cost to do...................It's all about the cost benefit factor at my age.
