this weekend I want to paint the rims on my car flat black, my rims are those shiny ass chrome rims, and I think the bling bling look is ugly, lol 1 question, do I need to scratch and scuff up the rims for the primer and paint to stick better or just clean it prime it and paint be ok?

i think you will need to scuff up the rims for the paint to stick. good luck. once you do that, though, you cannot go back. so make sure its really want to do.

 

Yes, we can't emphasize that enough. They will look like crap when they start to chip or peel (which they will).

 

You may be better off paying to have them Powdercoated.

yeha I live in MD, well, I bought the primer and the black paint, and I HATE the shiny chrome look always have so I dont care about going back! lol

but I shouldnt chip unless its hit with rock and road debris, whitch is understnadable,

and Im planning on by new rims soon anyways Im jsut painting these for the mean time
