Decisions decisions ....

i currently have a 2007 vw rabbit. its slow to say the least. it handles well can be kinda fun to drive if I abuse it but its time for a change. My options are either a c2 motorsports stage 2 turbo for 3,000 dollars plus installation. OR which i am leaning to much more, buy a 2008 cobalt ss/tc. I found one for 12.800 so with a trade in on my rabbit id probably get 8,800 for it and if i could get the price of the cobalt down to 12000 id be spending 3200 bucks. What your input. I know its going to be biased because you are all cobalt owners but id still appreciate any input. Pros and cons etc.

Test drive the Cobalt and see what you think.

When trying to view it from an unbiased point of view here's how I see it:

You could turbocharge an engine that wasn't meant to have that turbo on a 2007 car or you could get a car that is a year newer and has the turbo performance stock with all of the other parts of the engine/drivetrain made to work with the turbo.

Other things to research/consider will be reliability and resale. I think the Cobalt would be more reliable and resell isn't the best on either.

edit: Don't know much about the VW but if it's anything like the GTI it will have a better interior and fit/finish than the 'balt. The 'balt is a little rougher around the edges but is top quality where it matters (engine, drivetrain, performance, suspension, etc.)

thanks for the advice. I am more than willing to sacrifice fit and finish for that great engine. i think I'm going to go with the balt
