Did they remove the 2.4?
Went to the Chevy site, it lists 2.2XFE, 2.2, and 2.0T as the only engine types
Went to the pontiac site and it doesn't list the engine in the G5 GT anymore, do a "competition match" on the GT and it shows the engine as 2.2L?
Where'd the 2.4 go?

They renamed it with the intention of releasing the turbo car, which has nearly 100+ hp more than the 2.4; they smartened up and realize it was foolish to call two cars SS with such a significant power difference. Also part of their general "tightening up the usage of the SS badge", as they called it. I think they simply weren't happy with the numbers of the 2.4, hence a new 2.2 for 2009 as well.

That's not it; they sold all the 2.4s they alloted to the Cobalt line. They had to drop one because four engines is too many for an economy car model. They need to devote all the 2.4 production to the G6, Malibu and the others that its available in.

looks like I might go with a 2004 2.2 Cavi and Supercharge it if I can find anyone with a kit left over, says GM discontinued it :/
need a new car for under 7-8k
new as in new to me, a used car though..
