does anyone have a stock gm radio with xm that they want to get rid of?

i was looking for anyone that had a gm radio that is xm ready i would be willing to buy one or if they want i can just take it off their hands i am from the wisconsin area and will pay shipping if needed.

I think you need more then just the radio to get it to work. I think you will also need the antena and the tuner box thing for it but Im not sure.

The radio will only work in the car it came in. if you try and install it in another car, it will lock and will not work. This is the way radios in all GM cars now work, it checks the vin number each time the radio is used. If the VIN does not match, the radio locks up.

I thought there was just a code on the radio next to the serial number that you put in to the radio when you hooked it up. I may be wrong though. sometimes they are also in the owners manual either way you will need a code to unlock it i'm pretty sure about that.

How does the radio know what the VIN is? There is no way the VIN can be transmitted through the power supply/

It just needs to be programmed at the dealership (thats one of the 1,000,000 things

I do at work.)

XM receiver, antenna and program and your good to go.

Ive installed some on full size pickups and they used the same radio just installed

the Xm receiver, harness and antenna.
