My first run was a 16.x with less than 1000 miles on the car.

I lit the clutch up like a phatty on the 1-2 shift and just wanted to get back to the pits and assess the damage after that. I thought i smoked it right off, the tires caught and chirped a bit then I was bouncin off the rev limiter and slowing down.

No it won't bounce off the limiter, because you shift very very fast, it doesn't have time to get to the limiter.

If you grannyshift, like most people do though...

My second run ever at the track with my cobalt was 16.11, I missed second gear. I have yet to get another 16 second run. That same night I ran 15.1, and the follwing weekend I ran 14.87. The time after that was 14.59, I think this car is just a big learning curve. Once you figure it out, you can run fast, but you just have to learn it and it takes some runs to figure out what works for you.
