Drag Racing this weekend

So This friday or saturday idk which day yet im heading to PIR and gonna go down the track. Since i am a first time owner of a cobalt ss so i need some help.

Whats a good shift zone for an 05 SS/SC stage 2,CAI,Exhaust,BC adjustable Coil-overs.

Also whats a good zone for the Launch? I know we have problems with the launches but since i got coilovers i think i will do decent. Also all my other cars i have ever had are rear wheel drive. So should my shocks be softer or harder?

So i will sum up my questions to make them Easier.

1. Whats normal shift zone in the Power band?

2. Whats a good RPM to launch at?

3. Should my shocks be softer or harder?

and any other tips i should know let me know please and thanks

1) For a stage 2, shift at 7K.

2) Not sure, but the important thing is that you don't wheel hop.

3) If anything, the fronts should be softer and the rears should be firmer.

Most people launch between 2000-2200. Get some motor and tranny mounts and you'll be glued to the road on take off. You can buy the whole set for like $200 or so from TTR.

Normal shifting I shift between 3-4k. Some people go lower to get better mileage, but I don't like the feeling, this car just begs to be shifted aggressively. It feels sluggish shifting below 3k.

And yea, what xm said. If you've got the coilovers soften up the fronts a lil bit, and on race day, pump your rear tires up to like 40psi, and drop the pressure in the front to about 28. You'll launch so easy. An almost empty tank does wonders too :p

Oh also, watch your one-two shift, I find you gotta feather the clutch a lil bit or you'll wheel hop no matter what you do. The engine will rev up faster than what speed you're actually doing, and then when you shift and lift off the clutch, you end up bogging the engine out and losing a lot of power and time.

Oh well what XM said. Right before the rev limiter. You said normal zone so I thought you mean for normal driving heh.
