Just cheking my options... thats all,, plus there are great products besides KN, I use to have TrueFlow drop-in on my last car, and my Uncle has a greenfilter dropin, so just checking the options, I know for fact that neither TrueFlow nor Greenfilter make one for the balt, and at least till the month of April there not interested jet on making one, there concentrating in Trucks...

It's not a direct drop in. If AEM did offer them I'd already have one.

the dropin i ran for 7 months would disagree with you.

and while were talkin about it...lets talk about how K&Ns dropin which is supposedly built specifically for the cobalt....doesnt have the right size outlet

I have a K & N drop in and it fits fine. I think the first one didn't fit right.

Thanks.... I'm convinced in the quality of the AEM products, just unable to locate a drop-in. I was under the impression y'all found one for the factory intake box, due to the message #6 above.

Thanks...........

I would have disagreed with you last year when i installed my k&N , it fit super tight . BUT , after pulling it off last week to check it , it fit's sloppy as hell . Must be it's changed shape being in the air box for any amount of time . Do you have a part number for the AEM drop in? I have the sides of my air box cut out but i still use the bottom ,so a drop in is still my choice . Thanks

The K&N drop is is basically close to the same shape and diemsions as stock right? I haven't seen the SS K&N drop in, but most of them look exactly like the OEM filters. All AEM sells is universal cone style filters.

K&N currently is the only manufacture, that we know of, that manufactures a direct replacement filter, that is considered "high performance" and not just an OEM replacement.
