well, raced an evo IX MR last night, from a 40 roll and won by a car. He has the Buschur Turbo Back Exhaust, and that's all. Anyway, after the race, we drove each other's cars.. and even though I BEAT the evo, the car just felt like it pulled SOO much harder than my cobalt Not to mention how firm and short the stock shifter is, and how the tachometer isn't behind at all , I don't know, the cobalt just feels so much cheaper now that I drove that evo. Anyone else experienced anything similar? I'd trade for one tomorrow if I could afford it, haha

hmm....lets see...a 24k$ car to a 37k$ car...you'd expect the cobalt to feel cheaper....cuz it most certainly is...the EVO has had how many years of refinement...the cobalt has had like 3-4

haha, that's what I Told him, whenever he said the cobalt didnt feel as fast as it should have, or something like that, but between the slipping clutch and the difference between turbo and S/C.. it really did feel like that EVO pulled 3x as hard as my cobalt.. I mean, in all honesty, if i'd have driven his car pre-race, i'd have probably bet on him beating me.

yea...i'm sure if we gave a company our car and said research and develop this car into a fast street legal competitive car...then our little cobalts would be pretty nasty too....however what you feel is most likely the AWD

^^ yep yep AWD > FWD when it comes to the "Feel" of torque and HP.. car's not being pulled or pushed.. but both.lol RWD cars have a similar effect.. I about **** myself the first time i drove a 5.0 foxbody stang.. the HP in that car scared me. lol

yea i have a friend with an audi tt awd.. i beat him in races but for some reason his car feels like it pulls harder.. theres just a huge difference between a supercharged FWD car and turbo AWD car.

I love my balt too, but my buddy has a 9 SE too and jesus that thing is just fun. Although let me tell you that driver mod is huge, cuz I can beat that thing through the twisties around here.

they feel they pull harder b/c of teh AWD.. but all of that running gear weighs so much and makes the car slower in the end.. even though they are fast.. they're not as quick as a FWD or RWD.

if you put the same mods on a AWD eclipse... and a FWD Eclipse.. the FWD would pull toward the end and win. AWD is heaver, BUT they get a much better jump/start off the line. At a roll, they're like a a beareded lady @ a buffet. hehe

My Cobalt still gets more girls, haha. Everyone says the evo is ugly.

But yeah, i'd assume it is the AWD I'm feeling, and considering my car still pulls close to as hard is impressive I suppose. I guess it goes to show what a few mods on a "little cavalier engine" can do, because I don't know how many people have said, in essence Ecotec FTL, to me before, and then got owned

My boyfriend just got an Evo, and it is sick! Of course, it does have a full exhaust and has been professionally tuned. It pulls so hard. I love that dang car! I drive it every chance I get! If I could get him to take the cobalt, I would take his Evo, but fat chance of that happening!
