Does anyone else have a light noise when you turn the steering wheel left to right or vice versa when your sitting still?

 

What kind of noise? More specifically..

My LS has a very subtle sound from the back of the steering wheel rubbing against the steering pedestal/column, never bugged me though. Can only hear it while idling.. (Thas how quiet it is, any engine noise will cancel it out.)

 

the very high-pitched whining noise just off the idle position is the electric motor providing assist to the steering column

 

It's just a very minor thump.

Kinda like backlash on a rear end.

 

i got the same thump sound only when turning to the right though was going to take her in next week also hear the same thump when it hit small bumps in the road

 

i have the same sound, a slight rubbing sound only heard when steering at slow speeds, i hope it wears itself away, and does not add to the ongoing issues i am having with my wifes new cobalt.

 

when i get one in the shop working on it i will let you know ad of right now there are not p.i.s or bulletins, but give it some time unless its coming apart on youdont worry about it too much
