Engine Corrosion

Hey everyone. I'm going to be doing some paint work under the hood within the next couple weeks, but there is a ton of corrosion (due to NY winter salt). Has anyone had this? And if so how did you go about removing it? Thanks in advance!

^I'm really hoping that's not the case. Some people are saying WD-40 might do the trick

So your telling this guy if any part on the car has rust build up, but the part itself is fine, he needs to get new parts? I guess he'll be replacing almost every part of the suspension then.

POR-15 it. It prevents rust and works great. I just used not even half a can on my brake calipers and they look awesome as well as the rust on my winter beater explorer

thanks guys, I'll try some of this stuff out. Should I just put a jack under the motor to take off a motor mount?

ok take it to the extreme buddy. when i first thought of corrosion, i thought like really bad, didnt think that a little sandpaper would get rid of it.

emery cloth, and some sandpaper should have no problem taking off surface rust. then clear coat it with some rust check to prevent new corrosion.
